This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. The article Kevin Haugrud has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. reddogsix (talk) 12:18, 26 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Control copyright icon Hello Shahidul Hasan Roman, and welcome to Wikipedia. All or some of your addition(s) to Elaine Duke have been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. However, there are steps that must be taken to verify that license before you do. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 21:00, 2 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Starting articles

[edit]

Please remember not to hit "Save changes" until a new article includes at least a single sentence of text, not just an infobox.

Text is vital for readers looking at search results listings, whether in Wikipedia or in Google. An infobox is not enough. See Craig Clemmensen, which you left after three edits in this state, and see the current discussion at Wikipedia talk:Criteria for speedy deletion where your initial version of Robert Snyder (civil servant) was cited as an example, though it has now been worked on by other editors and is much improved.

If your editing process is such that you want to start with an infobox and then come back later, please do so in your sandbox or as a Draft article, not in "Mainspace". An article in the encyclopedia must include some text.

Any article also needs sources, and in particular any article about a living person also needs at least one source to avoid it nominated for BLP PROD deletion immediately. You may intend to come back to an article later to add sources, but there are plenty of people checking newly-created articles who are likely to tag an article very quickly.

You can save everyone a lot of trouble, and maintain the quality of the encyclopedia, if you ensure that before you hit "Save" every article has a lead sentence and a source.

Adding inadequate articles like these could be considered a kind of "disruptive editing", so I will now give you a formal warning about this: if you continue to create articles with no text you may eventually find yourself blocked from editing.

Thanks. PamD 08:34, 7 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on 2017 Dhaka RAB Camp Sucide Bombing Attack requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://www.thedailystar.net/city/suicide-blast-kills-bomber-ashkona-rab-camp-1377421. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

Thanks for uploading File:Dhaka Bank logo.png. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. I'd like to request unblock and please find my statement below: I have been using English Wikipedia for 3 years & made over 1700 edits & made over 10000 edit on Bangla wikipedia. I am also a autopatrolled, reviewer, rollbacker there. I never made any vandalism & never abusively used Wikipedia. It turns out that I am blocked from English Wikipedia for infinite time. I am founder and operator of Cumilla Wikipedia Community which is a regional Wikipedia community of Bangladesh and approved by Wikimedia Bangladesh. I regularly organise Wikipedia meetups and workshops. On 6 January 2019, we arranged a wiki meetup at one of our Bangla wikipedia administrator Ibrahim_Husain_Meraj's house. On that day, i invited some of my college friends on that meetup[1][2]. Me and Ibrahim Hussain Meraj helped them to create new wiki accounts. The accounts in question which I am accused for sockpupets "Sabbir Siam" is my friend. See the account creation log and the date of that meetup. He is my college friend so generally we meet almost every day and occasionally help him on how to edit and stuffs. The other account I was suspected for sockpuppets is "User:The Jack Sparrow". He is also a member of our Cumilla Wikipedia Community and a friend of mine (3: see our meetup photo). He created this account may be 2 years ago. He did some edit on Bengali Wikipedia. But for a long time he didn't make any edit. On 23 April, he created his user page in English Wikipedia by using our College wifi network. Though he is not active in editing but he is strongly associated with our local community. Most of the board members of Wikimedia Bangladesh know user:Sabbir Siam & user:The Jack Sparow personally. They joined in many Wikipedia meetups, photowalks. The other accounts User:Wiki Soldier93 & User:Abdul Abbasi whom with i suspected for sockpupets, i truly don't know them. I hope administrator will unblock me. You can also confirm my statement with User:NahidSultan (Steward and Secretary of WMBD) or any member of WMBD board. 1.https://bd.wikimedia.org/s/1hc 2.https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Comilla_Wikipedia_Meetup,_January_2019 3.https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Wikipedians_in_Comilla_(2).jpg --Shahidul Hasan Roman (talk) 10:18, 25 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Hello. Unfortunately, this was a checkuser block so it must be dealt with by the Arbitration Committee of English Wikipedia per their instructions here. As your email function is still enabled, you can email the committee by using the following form: Special:EmailUser/Arbitration Committee. Sasquatch t|c 11:22, 25 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

@NahidSultan: Would you be able to verify the statement above for the Arbitration Committee and the blocking administrator Bbb23? Thank you. Mkdw talk 23:44, 29 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Hey @Mkdw: Thanks for handling this unblock request. I'm confirming the above statement. In fact, I emailed Bbb23 right after the block. Best, ~ Nahid Talk 15:50, 30 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Bbb23: Will you grant your support for these accounts to be unblocked? Mkdw talk 17:04, 30 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Mkdw: If based on the input from the blocked user and from NahidSultan, the Committee believes the users should be unblocked, I have no objection. The Committee is in a better position to verify the accuracy of the statements than I am. As an aside, I did receive an e-mail from NahidSultan, but I don't respond to user e-mail, and I don't see why NahidSultan couldn't have "confirmed" the user's statement on this page rather than in an e-mail.--Bbb23 (talk) 17:14, 30 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. I assume NahidSultan sent the email before Shahidul Hasan Roman publicly disclosed the relationship and circumstances. In any case, I appreciate both your quick responses to the matter. Mkdw talk 17:20, 30 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Mkdw: You're absolutely right. I got confused on dates. My apologies to NahidSultan for any implication that they did anything wrong.--Bbb23 (talk) 17:25, 30 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Shahidul Hasan Roman, thank you for your willingness to disclose the relationship and circumstances surrounding this whole situation. I have gone ahead and unblocked all the accounts listed at the SPI, including the other two accounts you did not know as they had relatively little activity. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for allowing us to rectify the situation. Best regards, Mkdw talk 18:37, 30 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Mkdw,so many thanks to you for unblocking me. --Shahidul Hasan Roman (talk) 19:03, 30 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:Joy Chowdhury, a page you created, has not been edited in 5 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 01:29, 27 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

"Silly"

[edit]

Hello Shahidul Hasan Roman. While I appreciate your help in the current RfC at the Ukraine invasion talk page, I would advise against using wording such as calling another user's explanation as silly as you did here [1]. So far some users of the opposing side have exhibited some undiplomatic language and behaviour and I do not wish this discussion to become an inflamed name-calling. Those users themselves make their arguments weaker through this. It's not like it's going to get you blocked or anything, I do not wish to make you feel discouraged, but I believe it's a better strategy for the proposal to succeed. Thanks for your support again, take this simply as a note or reminder. Super Ψ Dro 21:20, 29 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
