Disputes

[edit]

Salam. I see that you and MezzoMezzo are engaged in an edit warring over a couple of articles. You remove criticism sections from some articles while you add others to other articles. MezzoMezzo is doing the same though the other way around. Please stop it and review your edits and see what you have done wrong. And if this won't stop i'll be obliged to use some administrative actions. Thanks. -- FayssalF - Wiki me up® 16:25, 1 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I see you have already warned both parties appropriately, but you should know that MezzoMezzo also brought it to AN/I [1] DGG (talk) 16:49, 1 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: your comments on my page, I understand. I'll alter my editing as advised. And thank you for the advice as well, constructive criticism is always appreciated. MezzoMezzo (talk) 17:00, 1 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I will act accordingly and will Improve my editng pattern. Is there any Option to Stop someone from Continuous Compalining and annoying?thanksShabiha (t) 01:39, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Shabiha, not to point fingers to you specifically, but to just emphasize that you acted the same way. To both of you, criticism sections have to exist (except I'd guess for articles like [Sun] or [Moon] and similar or to specific instances as per WP:BLP). It shoudl not be any criticism though as per WP:NPOV, WP:RS and WP:V. I am glad that you both are promissing to improve your editing ways. Happy editing.
By the way, you can just ignore what I've just said and get some insight from WP:AGF. -- FayssalF - Wiki me up® 01:07, 3 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Salafi/Wahhabi merger

[edit]

Thanks for your message. I'm against the merger. Wahhabism is an identifiable phenomenon, those who follow Abdu'l-Wahhab. Salafi is an umbrella description, which no two people seem to use in the same way (for example, non-Salafis usually include Qutb in this category, whereas many self-described Salafis repudiate him). Many people self-identify as Salafi who would never agree to being called Wahhabi.

Still I'm no expert, I'm only going on what I have seen, which is that there is no agreement! --Sir Myles na Gopaleen (the da) (talk) 16:56, 1 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello my friend

[edit]

We are discussing merging the Wahhabism page with Mohammed Bin Abdel Wahab and/or Salafism as a way to reduce the impact of the use of this name which as you know is unfounded.

Please join us in the wahhabism discussion page.

I sometimes get the impression that this discussion is sometimes less about logic, reason, and truth then it is about stubbornness and cultural subjectivity. I am trying to calmly and logically convince them that the naming is nonsensical. I could use your help.

They seem to forget that many people think the naming is unfounded based on islamic science and Fiqh.

Regardless of what we think of Salafis reason should rule.

Regards and Salam. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bonassra (talkcontribs) 19:15, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The "Wahhabi" Myth

[edit]

Hi, three PRODs on The "Wahhabi" Myth were removed by David.Baratheon (talk) 12:48, 6 May 2022 (UTC) (the article creator), then you proposed a speedy deletion.[reply]

Prior to this, I left a note at OliverTwisted (the first PROD). The Myth article is part of a larger mess centred around Wahhabi which David.Baratheon sees as being grossly biased and inaccurate, as you can no doubt see in the article history and on the talk page. He may have some valid points, but he's going about it the wrong way, for example deleting the lead and inserting his own text. Rather than just deleting his article, David could maybe do with either mediation or taking to the admin noticeboard so that he can have his say and be advised? File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Yanabi.gif. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Istcol (talk) 15:38, 19 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Yanabi

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Yanabi requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for web content. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. ttonyb (talk) 15:40, 19 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your corrections on Ali Hamdani

[edit]

I request you to kindly know more about Ali Hamdani before you take it upon yourself to wield your scissor. I recommend you to read his book Zakhirat-ul-Mulk. As far as his suggestions being provocative i may say that a lot of things in the mediaeval times are provocative by todays standards. Are you then going to delete all mediaeval history? We have to accept it and come to terms with it.Kashmiri0000 (talk) 17:38, 3 October 2009 (UTC)kashmiri0000[reply]

The New Edits to Barelwi Article

[edit]

Greetings, one thing I wanted to make clear is that the question is not whether the Fatwa Online site is POV or not (it is, clearly). The question is whether it accurately represents Deobandi/Salafi opinion. If, for example, a reputable newspaper quotes the Mufti of Egypt as declaring Barelvis kufr, that would certainly be notable and worth including. The statement is POV, but the fact that someone notable stated XYZ is not POV. So I will hesitantly support your removal of the section stating that Deobanis/Salafis call Barelvis kufr, but only because the cited source is not clearly reliable, and/or does not necessarily represent another existing Islamic group. The article Aboobacker Ahmad has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Notability

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Supertouch (talk) 16:06, 24 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Aboobacker Ahmad, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Aboobacker Ahmad. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Supertouch (talk) 16:27, 24 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

AlhamduliLLAH ,you returned

[edit]

I was thinking you just leaved wikipedia. As you see, most of Sunnis are absent from even months.Eg. User:Madinah madinah,i haven't seen him active for months, and User:Raza2526,he last edited on 16 may.Good news is that User:MezzoMezzo got lost LOL!he's absent approximately from when you were absent.Probably i was the only Sunni active over last months. As you can see,Barelvi article was almost entirely in wahabi hands.I edited the article to neutrality with sunni sources like Fatawa Rizwiya,Hussam ul-Hermain etc.It bothered that Matthew guy and he reverted my edit.Than what i did was i placed an vandalism notice and restored article to my edit with some more references and a request to not to start an edit war.Matthew made fun of my warning and he and another self claimed neutral editor User:Urduboy(probably a sock puppet of matthew) repeatedly moved to wahabish edits.I again neutralised the article from wahabi PoV and asked them to discusse about article on the article's talk page. But they didn't stopped the wahabi PoV addition and accusing me of non-neutral PoV,finally, they moved the article to extreme wahabi PoV edit and with the help of admin Chzz they fully protected the article. While,i also developed the Dawat-e-Islami and MadniChannel etc and created Sunni Dawat-e-Islami AlhamduliLLAH!

Points on copyediting and references

[edit]

Just a couple points about a few edits: commas touch the word to their left, but have a space to the right, same with periods. Different punctuation (not sure if that's a regional thing or an individual thing) makes edits harder to read and looks disorganised to readers.

So far as references, articles, especially Barelvi, need cites to reputable academic works, not sectarian sites supporting a given religious group. So it would help a ton if you could help find references in academic publications on the Barelvi denomination (and there are plenty of those on GoogleBooks) rather than Hazrat.org or similar. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Charminar, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page MIM (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on File:Old Image of Charminar, Hyderabad dated back to 1957 with out illegal structure.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
