A tag has been placed on Karpov Victor requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Your diplomat articles

[edit]

I have turned your article Vorontzov July into a redirect to the existing article Yuli Mikhailovich Vorontsov about this person. Before creating a new article, please check to see whether there is an existing one, and so far as possible make sure that your transliteration from Cyrillic follows the normal standard.

Please also study the guidelines Your First Article and the WP:Manual of Style (biographies) to learn about our preferred article layout and style - you could also look at some existing articles about diplomats. In particular, the surname should be last in the article title. It saves work for other editors if your articles are submitted in the correct format. Two last pieces of advice:

  • it is best not to post an article until you have enough material to make it clear that it is about someone notable enough to have an article. An article that just says "Vorontzev July Russian diplomat" is very likely to be tagged for speedy deletion, because we get a large number of one-line articles which are never expanded,
  • one of Wikipedia's fundamental principles is verifiability - every piece of information needs to be verifiable from a reliable source. That is especially true for biographies of living persons. Articles which do not cite sources are liable to be challenged and removed. WP:CITE explains how to add references to an article.

Regards, JohnCD (talk) 16:22, 1 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have changed "Alexey" to "Alexei" because that seems to be the form usually used - see, for instance this article of his. JohnCD (talk) 16:32, 1 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Alexei Obukhov has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article. The nominator also raised the following concern:

All biographies of living people created after March 18, 2010, must have references.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Suprematist comp with Violet center and Green Half-Moon, 2011, oil on board, 69 by 81,5.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.

If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.

Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 05:36, 15 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
