Hello, Seringapatam, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Burmese–Siamese War (1563–1564), may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may not be retained.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on this page, followed by your question, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Your contributed article, Battle of the Black hills

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Battle of the Black hills. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Great Sioux War of 1876. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Great Sioux War of 1876 – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. ProtossPylon 23:26, 7 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent new articles

[edit]

Hello Seringapatam. I've performed cleanup on several new articles you have recently created. These include:

In your submissions, please be sure to include reliable sources to verify content, use proper capitalization and grammar (see Wikipedia:Basic copyediting for some tips), format articles per Wikipedia's Manual of style, and add categories and internal links. Thanks you for your consideration regarding this important matter. Northamerica1000(talk) 00:05, 8 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your recent contributions, such as Burmese–Manipuri War (1770). Getting started creating new articles on Wikipedia can be tricky, and you might like to try creating a draft version first, which you can then ask for feedback on if necessary, with less risk of deletion. Do make sure you also read help available to you, including Your First Article and the Tutorial. You might also like to try the Article Wizard, which has an option to create a draft version. Thank you. - MrX 01:02, 8 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • We really appreciate your enthusiasm for creating content. You have created many new, very short, unreferenced articles for subjects that are already covered in Military history of Burma. Please consider expanded that article if you have new content with references. Then, if you have a substantial amount of new content, a new article can be created. Also, I suggest you have look at WP:FIRST, which explains how to properly create your first article. Best wishes - MrX 01:24, 8 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Do not create, add, or restore hoaxes to Wikipedia. Hoaxes are caught and marked for deletion shortly after they are created. The article Siege of Basra (1776-1779) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Battle not notable enough to merit separate article; there is hardly sufficient info and no real need for an unverifiable stub.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. dci | TALK 02:25, 19 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
