Speedy deletion nomination of Bids for the 2018 Gay Games
[edit]Hello SecretName101,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Bids for the 2018 Gay Games for deletion, because it appears to duplicate an existing Wikipedia article, [[{{{article}}}]].
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. JamesG5 (talk) 10:08, 14 November 2015 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Bids for the 2018 Gay Games
[edit]A tag has been placed on Bids for the 2018 Gay Games requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section R2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect from the article namespace to a different namespace except the Category, Template, Wikipedia, Help, or Portal namespaces.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Help decide the future of Wikimania
[edit]The Wikimedia Foundation is currently running a consultation on the value and planning process of Wikimania, and is open until 18 January 2016. The goals are to (1) build a shared understanding of the value of Wikimania to help guide conference planning and evaluation, and (2) gather broad community input on what new form(s) Wikimania could take (starting in 2018).
After reviewing the consultation, we'd like to hear your feedback on on this survey.
In addition, feel free to share any personal experiences you have had at at a Wikimedia movement conference, including Wikimania. We plan to compile and share back outcomes from this consultation in February.
With thanks,

Polling data at Gary Johnson presidential campaign, 2016
[edit]I've removed the general election polling data from this article, as it is inappropriate for it to be here. It's redundant to Nationwide opinion polling for the United States presidential election, 2016, which is where the information should be. Compare against Hillary Clinton presidential campaign, 2016 and Donald Trump presidential campaign, 2016 which do not have such enormous polling data sections. Thanks, --Hammersoft (talk) 20:00, 16 July 2016 (UTC)
Aggregate polls
[edit]Your idea isn't a bad one, if you want I could even help you out with a separate article. As for the other polls though we already had past discussions on those involving Ballotpedia, and the Morning Consult. I just wish you had taken a look at those before doing all the work of re-adding the polls. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 14:35, 1 August 2016 (UTC)
I noticed after they had been removed that their was a prior conversation. Would the separate article be for the older polls? What do you think the cut-off date should be for it?SecretName101 (talk) 20:05, 8 August 2016 (UTC)
Copying within Wikipedia requires proper attribution
[edit]Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from United States presidential election, 1996 into United States third party and independent presidential candidates, 1996. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was moved, attribution is not required. — Diannaa (talk) 21:36, 14 August 2016 (UTC)

New deal for page patrollers
[edit]Hi SecretName101/Archives,
In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.
Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.
Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)

Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions did not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Hello, I'm Ilabsboy. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit seemed less than neutral to me, so it has been removed it for now. If you think this was a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Replaceable fair use File:Lester Crown 01.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Lester Crown 01.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. – Train2104 (t • c) 23:05, 8 June 2017 (UTC)

Hello,
Thank you so much for your NHL additions. I am just wondering where you got this picture of Kapanen [1]. @HickoryOughtShirt?4, I had been going off of the originally-announced AHL All-Star roster, which included Kapenen (who ultimately did not participate). I had identified every other player on his conference's roster, except him. Thus, I assumed that the image must have been him (albeit, maybe from a bizarre angle). It turned out that when I found a more-updated roster, I learned that the subject of the image was Andreas Johnsson.SecretName101 (talk) 04:26, 22 February 2018 (UTC)

Hello SecretName101. I saw you moved this article back to the original title with the edit summary "Formatting name similarly to other election articles". Just a heads up that the naming convention for election articles (WP:NC-GAL) has just changed to put the year at the front (I did note this in the edit summary). Most articles are going to be moved by a bot in the next few days, but any created after 1 October needed to be moved manually (hence me moving this one and several others in Category:United States mayoral elections, 2019 that were recent creations). Take part in a survey
[edit]Hi SecretName101
We're working to measure the value of Wikipedia in economic terms. We want to ask you some questions about how you value being able to edit Wikipedia.
Our survey should take about 10-15 minutes of your time. We hope that you will enjoy it and find the questions interesting. All answers will be kept strictly confidential and will be anonymized before the aggregate results are published. Regretfully, we can only accept responses from people who live in the US due to restrictions in our grant-based funding.
As a reward for your participation, we will randomly pick 1 out of every 5 participants and give them $25 worth of goods of their choice from the Wikipedia store (e.g. Wikipedia themed t-shirts). Note that we can only reward you if you are based in the US.

Mayoral elections
[edit]Hi SecretName101
I see that you have been doing great work creating articles on mayoral elections, especially in Illinois.
However, in many you have been placing the articles in categories which you do not exist, usually "Category:statename elections, YYYY" e.g. 1915 Chicago mayoral election in Category:Illinois elections, 1915.
They are clearly valid categs which should exist, but as yet do not; so you did right to categorise the articles that way. Per WP:REDNOT, the non-existent categories show up as errors on cleanup lists, so I have been creating them.
However, I thought I should pint out to you that these are v easy categories to create. Just past {{Category U.S. State elections by year}}
into the category page, and save. The template is a smart one which configures itself, so no parameters are needed. Just paste and save.
The latest redlinked categ I see is in Category:Illinois elections, 1923. Maybe you'd like to create it.
Hope this helps --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 07:56, 6 December 2018 (UTC)

Cleveland Traction Wars moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Cleveland Traction Wars, does not have enough detail and citations as written to remain published. It needs to be expanded to be meaningful.. I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:

When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Making GA nominations
[edit]SecretName101, I've just fixed your GA nomination at Talk:2019 South Bend, Indiana mayoral election.
Basically, when you make a nomination, you should use the {{GAN}} template, which creates the {{GA nominee}} template and fills everything in correctly. The GA nomination instructions page has all the details on how to do this, and about the full process in general. In addition, you should not attempt to insert anything on the WP:GAN page; there is a bot that does this automatically and in the proper format, and will overwrite anything you do within twenty minutes of your edit.
Best of luck with your new nomination. BlueMoonset (talk) 17:45, 10 December 2019 (UTC)

Copyright problem on John Dill Robertson
[edit]I have removed copyright content from the above article that you added from two different sources. Please be aware that there is an automated system that checks all additions for violations of our copyright policy. Please don't do it any more, or I will block you. — Diannaa (talk) 13:43, 20 April 2020 (UTC)
- @Diannaa: I believe the content you are referring to from this source is content originally published elsewhere in THE YEAR 1918, which you presumably know, is beyond the expiration of copyright. SecretName101 (talk) 19:13, 20 April 2020 (UTC)

User:SecretName101/sandbox1
[edit]Hello. While carrying out some routine category maintenance, I came across User:SecretName101/sandbox1, which appears to be a point-in-time version of 2016 Libertarian Party presidential primaries. While copying mainspace content to userspace for short-term work/improvement is permissible, of course, long-term storage of such content is problematic from a copyright standpoint (see WP:UP#COPIES and Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia). Since your last edit to this page was 4 years ago, do you have any objection to deleting it?
I also saw User:SecretName101/sandbox2, User:SecretName101/sandbox3, and User:SecretName101/sandbox4, which appear to be related. If you no longer need them, I would be glad to delete them for you, but these do not look like they were copied from mainspace, and so do not present the same issue. -- Black Falcon (talk) 19:14, 10 May 2020 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Judges of the Superior Court of Chicago
[edit]A tag has been placed on Category:Judges of the Superior Court of Chicago requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Liz Read! Talk! 13:09, 20 May 2020 (UTC)

2020 Libertarian Party presidential primaries infobox
[edit]Hi, I removed your entries of candidates after Abramson in the infobox. The election infobox template only allows for 9 candidates to be displayed, so those additional candidates won't appear. We have to cut off infobox inclusion at 9 even if more than 9 got over 5% of the vote due to the technical restrictions of the template. — Tartan357 (Talk) 06:45, 12 June 2020 (UTC)
- @Tartan357: I think we should leave these in case they do expand the infobox template to allow more than nine candidates to be listed. SecretName101 (talk) 06:56, 12 June 2020 (UTC)
- @SecretName101: That's not how this works; it's not acceptable to leave invalid markup in the article. You'd need to propose a change to the template parameters on the template's talk page. Right now, having those parameters in the page generates an error message when one tries to submit an edit. — Tartan357 (Talk) 06:58, 12 June 2020 (UTC)

Wendell Willike
[edit]On page 150 of David Levering Lewis' Improbable Wendell Willkie: The Businessman Who Saved the Republican Party and His Country, and Conceived a New World Order there's a discription of Wilkie's first acceptance speech. (He made two). You can go to the link and then to the "look inside" link, scroll down to page 150 and read it yourself. Willkie made two acceptance speeches that year. One at the convention, and one in his home town. AT his second speech he said[1]:
"...You all know that I accepted at Philadelphia the nomination of the Republican party for President of the United States..."

- @SecretName101: He walked up to the podium in the convention hall and did so in person. An experimental TV station broadcast the speech. The person who made the original edit must not have read the article from the FDR library.Arglebargle79 (talk) 18:08, 17 August 2020 (UTC)
