Your userpages
[edit]Hello Sebastian. Say, I've just deleted your user pages, as requested, but then again I wonder: why don't you just ask for adminship? I bet that'd save you and the admins a lot of time. Cheers, Pascal.Tesson 03:20, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you, that is very nice! If I had a few more buttons it would indeed save everyone a lot of time! I would certainly use them responsively. But they come with a mop attached; I feel it is generally expected that you work harder, and I can't promise that I'll spend more time on Wikipedia in the future than I did in the last 6 months. — Sebastian 07:06, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
- Ah! and I thought you had a good reason. Sure, every now and then a couple of extremists oppose requests for adminship on grounds that the candidate is not promising to become a slave to the backlogs but the majority of RfA participants are more than reasonable. Even if the only action you take as an admin over the next year is to delete a dozen of your own temporary userpages, then the admin corps will have saved two minutes which, hey, is better than nothing (and makes up for the two minutes I've spent convincing you). Admin privileges allow you to delete "Joe is gay" pages but that does not mean that you have to spend your time doing so and, trust me, nobody cares whether an admin spends actual time on admin-only backlogs. Really. Nobody even notices. You seem to be involved in mediation: access to deleted pages can be an important tool to understand the history of a conflict so admin-permissions would be useful if only for your own selfish reasons! Anyways, please give it some more thought: if you're interested, I'll comb through your recent contributions to see if I'm comfortable nominating you (though I see little a priori reason why I would not). Or maybe you can ask a nomination from one of the mediation cabalists who know you better than I do. Pascal.Tesson 18:31, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
- If ever this goes to RFA, you have my 110% support Taprobanus 20:47, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

Hmm
[edit]I've heard that saying before in my book of Angels. You might think I love Angels. I do! (except for fallen ones). You could say I'm a little obssesed with God but I respect other peoples religions.--Angel David 22:27, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
Congratulations!

- Hope the new tools can help you out in your mediation efforts. Watchdogb 02:52, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
Congratulations SebastianHelm! Your RfA was successful. You are now an administrator on the English Wikipedia. I hope you have just as happy a time editing in the future as you did before your RfA. You may want to look at the admin guide to read up on any tools you are unfamiliar with. |

Thanks, friends, for your nice greetings and the message! — Sebastian 07:38, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
Next time
[edit]Next time, please notify me before you undo one of my blocks. Per WP:BLOCK:Administrators should not unblock users blocked by other administrators without first attempting to contact the blocking administrator and discuss the matter with them. The block was not just for the repeated statements that he was conducting illegal activities, it was also for the blatant incivility. ⇒SWATJester Son of the Defender 04:09, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
- You are right. That was a mistake. I am sorry about that. For my excuse, I was thinking you'd follow the discussion and read my reason there, but it still is not the same. I learned my lesson - it's really too tempting to use the tools when you have them at your fingertips. — Sebastian 04:14, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
