Disambiguation link notification for December 18
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Turks and Caicos Islands, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Cayman (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 08:55, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
Military history of the Cayman Islands moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Military history of the Cayman Islands, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. buidhe 03:02, 6 February 2020 (UTC)

- Hi, please don't be discouraged. These articles have promise but you need a reliable source for all information. buidhe 03:02, 6 February 2020 (UTC)
Hi there! I saw you make a few edits to some hurricane articles, I appreciated your additions. Given your user name, I'm wondering if you might be from the Cayman Islands, or if you're merely interested about them. I recently published an article for List of Cuba hurricanes. I don't know if that would be up your alley, but there is a push to get a list article for tropical cyclones affecting every major area (country/territory). The structure is pretty basic. You list them chronologically by year with a brief summary of each storm's affects on the island group. The more major storms would get a few sentences, while the minor ones might just get a sentence ("Tropical Storm X passed near Grand Cayman, producing winds of Y"). No pressure if you don't feel like doing it, I just wanted to bring it up because I saw your edits earlier.
Happy editing, and stay healthy! Cheers ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 17:49, 14 March 2020 (UTC)
Hey there! Well hehehe as the user name says. Umm let's say I have some unique ties to it. also worked on Hurricanes and tropical cyclones in terms of analysis and forecasting, and with the human factor in disaster management and response along with military stuff.
Yes I love the idea for list article for tropical cyclones affecting every major area (country/territory). And I would be more than happy to help with the data for the Cayman Islands as I keep my own records plus catalog those data sets from National Hurricane Center and National Weather Service in Cayman. If you can create the page for Cayman I am sure you will find that page filled with data in very very short time. Scottish Caymanian (talk) 00:26, 15 March 2020 (UTC)
- That's great! Draft:List of Cayman Islands hurricanes - here is a basic layout for what the list article should look like. I wanna let you know that you can't use your own data on Wikipedia (it's called original research), but you can use data sets from any weather agency, and you can cite websites as well. The point of the list is to briefly describe every storm that affected the area. Storms that only passed by and produced light wind gusts or light rainfall might only warrant one sentence ("Tropical Storm X passed nearby, dropping light rainfall" would be sufficient). For the bigger storms like Ivan, you can go into some more detail. If you have any questions, I'd be glad to help. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 13:58, 16 March 2020 (UTC)
- hey I have begun to write them up not finished as of yet still a work in progress but not sure why hurricane name tags are showing red as the articles do exists within wiki not sure if its possible to take a look and see why. anyway will be continuing to work on the list over next several daysScottish Caymanian (talk) 01:56, 17 March 2020 (UTC)
- Good work so far. Regarding the article names, make sure the "h" in "hurricane" isn't capitalized. Also, if you want to link to 1917 Atlantic hurricane season#Hurricane Four, you can link it in full, or you can link and have it show up as something different. Hurricane Four - check out the edit window if you want to see how I did that. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 02:01, 17 March 2020 (UTC)
Hey there Scottish Caymanian! Glad to see you still editing. I was wondering, when you add info to articles, like the List of Cayman Islands hurricanes, if you could also include a citation? Thanks in advance, and hope you're doing well! ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 17:36, 9 August 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Hi Scottish Caymanian! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Cayman Islands Regiment that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. — MarkH21talk 22:37, 30 March 2023 (UTC)
- Hi @MarkH21, Thanks for the clarification. Scottish Caymanian (talk) 00:20, 31 March 2023 (UTC)
- @MarkH21 The recent edit at Cayman Islands Regiment, is the case as stated regarding Acting Commanding Officer. I have interacted with the individual stated, and info is known as such. At this time public link to add as Ref is unavailable at this time but trying to see if we can get one in near future. Scottish Caymanian (talk) 00:30, 31 March 2023 (UTC)

Hi there Scottish Caymanian. I see you're still working on the article, for Cayman Islands hurricanes, but I see you're not adding citations. Do you need help for adding citations? You need to identify the website you got the information from. It's the way to verify information that gets added. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 05:42, 1 October 2024 (UTC)
