I've improved the layout of the article now, and added fair-use rationale. What further improvements would you like to see in order for you to change your vote to support? --Wisden17 11:24, 1 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I have copied this from Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/2001: A Space Odyssey (film synopsis) --
- I'm curious. I am familiar with 2001: A Space Odyssey (film and book), but what is 2001: A Space Oddesy ? -- Jason Palpatine speak your mind 03:37, 4 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Please be civil. Don't insult other's spelling errors. No one is perfect. — Scm83x hook 'em 07:59, 4 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Sorry. I thought I was being civil. I was serious. I did not believe it to be an error. There have been other works that have parodied 2001: A Space Odyssey, like 2001: A Space Travesty. I thought it was something I have not encountered. One of the earliest such film's was 2001: A Space Oddity (re: Jerome Agel. The Making of Kubrick's 2001) -- note the similarity with the misspelled title? -- Jason Palpatine speak your mind 4 June 2006
Sorry, again. I was trying to be nice. Didn't think a sp correct would be a bother. Jason Palpatine 06:15, 5 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
On June 5, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Pallister-Killian syndrome, which you created. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the "Did you know?" talk page. |
The all caps LOST has been reverted to redirect to the TV show. Until you can show me a consensus, keep it that way. The uncapped redirect vote is hardly a consensus for the all capped one. Let me know if there is a problem, but I don't have time to setup a vote at the moment. Thanks. --Nick Catalano contrib talk 21:57, 7 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Will Colt McCoy be the starter for the 2006 Texas Longhorn football team? Johntex\talk 01:41, 8 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Couple of things. First off congratulations on Plano, the FAC is going swimmingly and looks like it will be the first school to pass it's FAC relatively easily. I also wanted to let you know that one of my worklist items, Dog Day Afternoon has just been featured and thanks for your copyediting assisstance on it! Staxringold talkcontribs 13:10, 10 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- And a further honor for TWW, I listed it as a nominee and it quickly passed for Wikipedia:Version 0.5! Staxringold talkcontribs 02:35, 13 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Congrats on the Plano recognition, which we've known is a long-deserved status. The four high school FAs now set a brilliant benchmark for future editors to work hard to match. Harro5 01:51, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Hey Dude, congrats on the Plano FAC! Johntex\talk 10:12, 21 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hey scm,
There's currently some discussion about whether and how to set up [a] US wikimedia chapter[s]. Among other things this could help better organize meetups, gatherings at large events and cons, and local outreach. I'm notifying people who have been involved in local meetups; if you are interested, see the mailing-list and meta-page on the topic... both of which could use more activity. Cheers, +sj + 17:00, 17 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I thought y ou'd like to know that Eagle Scout (Boy Scouts of America) is up for FAC. Rlevse 23:09, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, you opposed this article recently when it was a FAC. I've added a fair bit to it, and generally tidied it up. I've currently got a peer review open on it here and would welcome your comments regarding its chances for as a FAC. I'm not keen to stick it up again on FAC, only for it to be opposed again, and to have proven to have renominated it again too early. I'd very much welcome your thoughts on the article as you, and Harro5 seem to be the resident school article experts. I should point out that I'm hoping to get some pictures of Perrins Hall, which is mentioned in the article, added but that is about all else I've got planned. Although I may create a table summarising the houses section, which includes who it is named after and its colour. What do you think? --Wisden17 22:16, 21 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Texan Collaboration of the month
[edit]File:Texasflaginstate.png | Texas needs your help!! The good news is the most recent Texan Collaboration of the Month - Juneteenth has recently been featured on the Main Page! The bad news is that we chose this article six months ago and we haven't kept up to date with choosing and improving a new article. |
I haven't seen the same problem on the Caulfield article, but I think doing what you did - hold strong and don't let them change policy - has to be the approach to take. Mind you, it's frustrating. I watchlist a lot of other Australian school articles - particularly those of decent length - and went through a long debate on St Michaels Grammar School which resulted in a ridiculous RfC. Basically, everyone who's been here knows that you're in the right, and there is nothing wrong with calling for backup. We know when a line needs to be drawn. Harro5 09:29, 30 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I noticed that you have a couple of Fair Use images in you archive 1 of your talk page. This is in violation of Wikipedia:Fair use. Please remove them and if you have other fair use images in your user area they should go as well. __meco 18:22, 4 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Thanks. It's always hard to monitor what others put in your user space. When that archive was live, no one cared about fair use in user space. I hadn't looked at it in a while. Thanks for the spot. — Scm83x hook 'em 19:10, 4 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Please look at this page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Allison_Janney.jpg and tell me if this image is a fair use violation? Thanks BCV 00:22, 5 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- This image is just like all the other NBC promo images for The West Wing. They are used on Wikipedia under the {{promotional}} license, which is certainly an accurate description of their use. It is a little bit questionable to use this image on the actresses page, but it certainly may be used in C.J.'s article without any issues. — Scm83x hook 'em 00:27, 5 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Well Abu badali wants to delete the image because of no source information. I don't believe it is a violation either so perhaps you might provide some input on the discussion page. BCV 00:32, 5 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]Questions
[edit]Thank you for your help with the articles. Just wondering, did you graduate from Plano Senior. What year? Longhornsg
For the stub notice? It will probably be OK. If it is too big we can always switch it back. Nice work! Johntex\talk 22:07, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- It looks splendid! Hey, how come I haven't seen you at Wikipedia:WikiProject College football yet? Johntex\talk 22:15, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Really?!? I almost left you and jareha and RG2 messages about it, but I felt sure you would see all the Talk page templates appearing on your watchlist. Check it out! We've also requested "permission" to open up a Portal. Should be ready for the first game of the season. I added a ton of references to Texas Longhorn Athletics today in response to an unreferenced tag put on the rivalries section. Johntex\talk 22:29, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Hey, good evening/morning. You just caught me as I hit refresh once more before going to sleep. That sounds like a good idea. It would be useful to know it will resize well.
- I've been fairly busy. I built Portal:College football yesterday and I've been submitting some articles for review. I sent hoi polloi to FA (2nd attempt). I also sent Charles Whitman and 2005 Texas Longhorn football team and a couple of others to GA. We'll see what sort of feedback comes in. Other than that, a few admin stuff on Brad Patrick, some determined pleas on some policy issues, a little work at Texas (the TCOTM), and a little work at commons to better organize images I have uploaded previously. Johntex\talk 08:55, 13 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Wow, that really does look nice! Hook 'em! Johntex\talk 19:56, 31 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

- I see you're at it yet again. Are you ever going to be satified? You were one of the one who moved for the article the images were in for AfD. -- Jason Palpatine 23:41, 13 July 2006 (UTC) (speak your mind | contributions)[reply]

- Cause and effect. I know. And you are certainly (as I thought I made clear above) familiar with the cause. "All other considerations are trivial." :House Ordos. 'Nuff said. -- Jason Palpatine 00:09, 14 July 2006 (UTC) (speak your mind | contributions)[reply]
PS
[edit]I tried to look for the deletion descussion page for the images but couldn't find it. As you know:
- You are a Wikipedia administrator.
- I am the uploader of the images listed here and taged by you.
I have a request to make -- as the uploader -- please delete them immediatly. With the already established deletion of the main article they were in and their removal from the 2001 (film) article, there is no reason for any of them to remain here in the database. -- Jason Palpatine 00:09, 14 July 2006 (UTC) (speak your mind | contributions)[reply]

Hello -- just a quickie regarding the Qana article. I tried to sprotect the article, but I guess I did something wrong :s What's the best way to request protection? (As it happens, that article appears to have stabilised!) Cheers AWN AWN2 06:58, 31 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
22 episodes were made, 14 episodes were aired in the US and the remaining 8 will be aired in the UK (and will no doubt be made available to fans via filesharers). As such, it will be possible for the category to be filled with articles on characters and individual episodes; consequently, I have decided that there's no reason to delete the category. Okay? I see no glaring issues, and the points I raised have all been dealt with. Its certainly given me a couple of ideas for City of Manchester Stadium. Oldelpaso 16:16, 5 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- If you can spare a bit of time (obviously an ongoing FAC means you might get busy), I've put City of Manchester Stadium up for [[peer review. Thanks. Oldelpaso 20:59, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Why was this page deleted?—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 67.51.104.100 (talk • contribs) .
- The article was deleted because it carried a {{prod}} tag for five days. This is grounds for deletion. The reason given was:
- "Not worthy of being included in Wikipedia - little to no media coverage, lengthy article NOT IN WIKI FORMAT (which looks like it was copied from somewhere?) about something that doesn't seem like it necessarily made an impact on the world"
- Thanks. — Scm83x hook 'em 21:10, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hi,
I think that Doubletfan might have gotten blocked as a result of, among other things, my being inconsistent. I point you to my talk page's last entry as well as the text I just put on Talk:Frisco, Texas. Perhaps, since adding his own link (and nobody telling him different other than "removed spammy link" without further explanation) was his only infraction, he should be given the benefit of the doubt and unblocked. I realize that, in the "real" world, ignorance of the law is no excuse, but Wikipedia should be above that. Nobody ever wrote anything on his talk page, and that account only made two entries.. Just a thought. Wesmills 08:47, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Good enough. At least now he knows how to get unblocked if he has an issue with it. Wesmills 03:34, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
