Proposed deletion of Australian Beach
[edit]The article Australian Beach has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- No indications of any common usage of this name in Jersey. Even the cited books do not appear to mention the name (at least according to Google's search of their contents).
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 12:05, 15 April 2015 (UTC)
- You removed this proposed deletion, stating:
- On page one hundred and sixty one and on page one hundred and seven teen
- Since you didn't specify which page referred to which book, it's a little hard to verify, and also because I don't have the books in my possession, but Google Books does list the table of contents for Channel Island Walks and both pages 117 and 161 are in the chapter titled "WALKS ON GUERNSEY", so neither of those pages can have verified the existence of Australian Beach on Jersey. Google books also lists the table of contents for Impressions of the Channel Islands, and that book has a postscript beginning on page 46, so its unlikely that those page citations came from that book either. Please help me clear up my confusion. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 12:27, 15 April 2015 (UTC)
Impressions of the Channel Islands is 126 pages long, as it also states on the Google books page, and page 117 is within the book. You have misunderstood me about Channel Islands Walks, both 100 and 61 mention the beach in passing. Thank you for your time
- Yes, it's easier to understand numerical references when typed as numbers. Pages 100 and 61 make more sense. Thank you for helping me to understand. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 13:14, 15 April 2015 (UTC)
Ways to improve Australian Beach
[edit]Hi, I'm Timtrent. Scienceyperson, thanks for creating Australian Beach!
I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. This is a stub. You also need to add the parameter for page numbers to the two references. {{Cite book}} has the parameters you seek.
The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse. Fiddle Faddle 12:23, 15 April 2015 (UTC)
- I've also added a category. Don't worry too much about those at this stage. There is a tool called HOTCAT which I think you can enable in your user preferences to make addition of categories easy. Wikipedia is easy, but not simple. Fiddle Faddle 12:26, 15 April 2015 (UTC)
Hello Timtrent. Thank you very much for helping, I really appreciate it. I will read the articles the tags linked to and try and fix the issues. Thank you again for your time

The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Fiddle Faddle 09:28, 24 April 2015 (UTC)
- Please note the instruction in the AfD notice on the article: "Feel free to edit the article, but the article must not be blanked, and this notice must not be removed, until the discussion is closed.". I have reverted your blanking of the page and your moving of it to "User:Australian Beach". PamD 18:36, 24 April 2015 (UTC)
