Speedy deletion of "We, The Undersigned (2007)"
[edit]A page you created, We, The Undersigned (2007), has been tagged for deletion, as it meets one or more of the criteria for speedy deletion; specifically, it is about a real person, group of people, band, club, company, organisation, or web content, but does not indicate why its subject is important or significant.
You are welcome to contribute content which complies with our content policies and any applicable inclusion guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

Speedy deletion of We, the Undersigned
[edit]A tag has been placed on We, the Undersigned requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Paranormal Skeptic (talk) 23:31, 23 September 2008 (UTC)

[edit]On reflection, I agree with you and have undeleted it. Should anyone else try to delete it, the piece of Wikipedia policy you need to be quoting is A musician or ensemble is notable if it contains at least one member who was once a part of or later joined a band that is otherwise notable, which clearly applies here. – iridescent 00:48, 24 September 2008 (UTC)

Retching Red's disappearence
[edit]I think the original article got speedy deleted while you were editing it. So when you clicked 'Save' you basically created a new empty version of the article, or something like that. I suggest you contact one of the admins at CAT:RESTORE. They can send you your text. You can then edit it, maybe off-wiki, and upload it again once the article is completely finished. Theo & the Skyscrapers
[edit]"The singer Theo Kogan was in a very important riot grrl band called the Lunachicks. Her husband who is also in the band is a member of the Toilet Böys. So there are two members of the band who have been important in music history and continue to be today. The article should not be deleted." Then why didn't you put that in the article? In its current condition, that article has no assertation of notability besides having members of other notable bands. Could you please put a little more info into new articles when you make them, or at least a reference? You might also want to read WP:1S. Notability of Bulimia Banquet
[edit]Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Bulimia Banquet, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Bulimia Banquet seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

[edit]Heavy metal gets very hazy post 1979. Many heavy metal subgenres already have a list of their own. Many have already been AfD'd as useless because they could be easily replaced by a category. (even the list of punk bands could be replaced by a category) That's why the list has the format that it does right now. It is simply a bridge between the main heavy metal music article and the countless "list ofs" that come under it. It is meant as a helper resource for overflow content from the main genre page... not to be some sort of extensive list that ignores the sub-genres. If it were it would be useless (see category) or... it would make all the others useless. "List of X genres" should always look like the list of thrash metal bands page or else they risk being quickly AfD'd because they are unnecessary. Hope that helps. Punk template
[edit]Is there a consensus to add this to all these punk articles? --John (talk) 04:00, 25 December 2008 (UTC) I assume so from what it says on this page under 'templates' : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Punk_music ScarTissueBloodBlister (talk) 04:05, 25 December 2008 (UTC)
When you add a new banner to a page would you also copy any "|listas=" value into the new banner? The listas parameter defines how a page is sorted in a list. If it is not used at all Daryl Palumbo is listed under D. The line "|listas=Palumbo, Daryl" puts the page under P, where most people would look for it.
Thank you.
I'll try to keep that in mind..
ScarTissueBloodBlister (talk) 04:37, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
Thanks. Most of the articles should already be in WPBiog so you can probably copy the listas from there. If not, the format should be LastName, FirstName "Nickname".
Thanks again.

Proposed deletion of New Romance for Kids
[edit]A proposed deletion template has been added to the article New Romance for Kids, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:
- This article is not notable enough for WP:MUSIC, is of low quality, and has no reliable sources.
All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. — Jeff G. Speedy deletion nomination of Deranged Records
[edit]A tag has been placed on Deranged Records requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.
If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

Proposed deletion of List of tattoo artists
[edit]The article List of tattoo artists has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- This is an indiscriminate list. There is not a clear definition of what the list entails. What is a notable tattoo artist?

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}

Embers AfD
[edit]Hey- responded to your comments on the Embers AfD. I see what you're saying, I would just suggest you take a look at what the references actually are and look at the relevant notability standards and see if you think the references actually support notability, which is the basis on which the AfD is founded. To be frank, I'm uncomfortable with having AfD'd what is a good looking, well Wiki'd new article, written likely in good faith. When the article failed CSD (rightly), I was very tempted to just drop the issue but it felt disingenuous to have read the article, looked at the references, seen what, to me, was a clearly non-notable topic, at least as far as the extant standards are concerned, and -not- nominated it for AfD. Anyway, was just wondering if you had additional comments/thoughts based on the notability standards as they apply to the references. Obviously, there are a good number of references in the article, but references to Myspace, blogs, other band sites, and a basically unrelated film don't really apply (and could be arguably redacted in and of themselves as unreliable sources) to notability. The Decibel article is the one catch in this but as far as I can tell the article either doesn't exist or is misleadingly described -- Decibel posts their review coverage online, as far as I can tell, and there are no real reviews of Embers. If someone could find evidence of the review's existence it would go a long way towards establishing notability (although arguably not quite all the way). ɠǀɳ̩ςεΝɡbomb 05:27, 5 February 2010 (UTC)
- Well I guess you're right. Besides the Decibel ref this is the only other relevant and reliable reference http://www.profaneexistence.org/reviews?start=320 The Maximum Rock n Roll reference could be good as well, it's hard to say. ScarTissueBloodBlister (talk) 15:30, 5 February 2010 (UTC)
Lesser Of Two
[edit]Thank you very much for your recent edits helping clear up the page and including Lesser Of Two in the punk rock portal. I still have a long way to go to clean up the article. I didn't know exactly what I was getting myself into at first, but I am committed to finishing what I started. Regarding the plagiarism comment, the text in question was used with the permission of it's author. You can feel free to contact the myspace page. Also, should we add the punk rock portal to the entry itself, and if so how? Again, thank you.javascript:insertTags('noodle 03:06, 7 February 2010 (UTC)',,) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Noodlesteve (talk • contribs) No problem. I think you need some way to prove you have permission to use the author's words. You'd have to ask someone else, an admin maybe, on what to do exactly in that situation because I;m not really sure. No don't add the punk rock portal to the entry, that's not normally done and will most likely be removed. Also, just so you know, you can't use myspace sites, blogs, or official band sites as references. If there's anything else I can do to help let me know. ScarTissueBloodBlister (talk) 03:43, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
- I appreciate the info. I do question one thing concerning myspace, and blogs, and other self published sources. As I stated on the Lesser of Two talk page these sources are not "reliable" under wikipedia standards but I do think they are "verifiable" under the selfpub exceptions in that they are not self promoting, contentious, or speaking on a matter that is in dispute. These references are of bands stating that they played a particular show with Lesser of Two. It appears it falls under the verifiability exception. If I'm misunderstading please explain, but I do not think that wikipedia has a complete ban on use of myspace and blogs as sources. Rather the usage seems limited to particular purposes which I believe is acceptable in the previous form. Except of course the myspace and blogs of Lesser of Two themselves. I do agree with your decision to delete there. I think we should restore the majority of third party blogs and myspace under the selfpub exception as stated in the talk page. Speedy deletion nomination of Jinxi Boo
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Jinxi Boo requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}
) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. ConcernedVancouverite (talk) 23:23, 15 May 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Gauntlet (body piercing)
[edit]A tag has been placed on Gauntlet (body piercing) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section R3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect from an implausible typo or misnomer. Please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. New 10,000 Challenge for Canada
[edit]Hi, Wikipedia:WikiProject Canada/The 10,000 Challenge is up and running based on Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge for the UK which has currently produced over 2300 article improvements and creations. If you'd like to see large scale quality improvements happening for Canada like The Africa Destubathon, which has produced over 1600 articles in 5 weeks, sign up on the page. The idea will be an ongoing national editathon/challenge for Canada but fuelled by a contest such as The North America Destubathon to really get articles on every province and subject mass improved. I would like some support from Canadian wikipedians here to get the Challenge off to a start with some articles to make doing a Destubathon worthwhile! Cheers. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:55, 22 November 2016 (UTC)
