Thomas F. King (archaeologist) moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Thomas F. King (archaeologist), is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG, in addition to a couple of other issues. It should have at least three, to be safe. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.Onel5969 TT me 11:22, 15 May 2023 (UTC)
- Hi! What can I do specifically to improve the article and make it suitable for Wikipedia? Sasobel (talk) 15:18, 19 May 2023 (UTC)
- Hi there, firstly I would check out the notability criteria for professors and ensure the subject meets the guidelines.
- As for the other notes on the article, I would advise trimming it significantly. There is a lot of unnecessary information. I would also advise keeping a close eye on the language you use. For example, the phrase "with over 50 years of experience" is rare in an encyclopedia but common in a resume– issues like that are probably why the article received that tag. Finally, I would suggest finding more independent, third-party sources or decreasing the use of non-independent, primary sources; while it's fine to use a primary source for some details (see WP:ABOUTSELF), nearly half of the sources in this article are written by the subject himself.
- Feel free to ping me or hit up my talk page if you have further questions. Wracking 💬 21:06, 19 May 2023 (UTC)
