Does Stefan Molyneux fall under Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case/Austrian economics?
I happened to notice a thread at WP:ANI, User:Steeletrap - talk page soapboxing. I've never heard of Stefan Molyneux before, so I might be speaking out of hand here, but I noticed several references (perhaps fleeting) in the article to Ludwig von Mises Institute, Lew Rockwell and Austrian Economics. Shouldn't SPECIFICO and Steeletrap be staying away from this article? A Quest For Knowledge (talk) 23:18, 4 June 2014 (UTC)
- Sorry, I can't tell at a glance, I know too little about the topic. If you think enforcement is required, WP:AE would be the place to go to. Sandstein 04:50, 5 June 2014 (UTC)
- We've been through this already. [1]. The article at {{Stafan Molyneux]] is a mess if you'd care to help out. SPECIFICO talk 17:18, 5 June 2014 (UTC)
- Right. Sorry, but I am not interested at all in the topic, and if I work on the article as an editor, I can't respond to enforcement requests, so, no. Sandstein 17:45, 5 June 2014 (UTC)
- Hi, I understand. I was inviting AQFK, who appears to be concerned about goings-on there. Thanks. SPECIFICO talk 17:54, 5 June 2014 (UTC)

Re: Your post to WP:AE
You misunderstand: I'm not asking for a modification to his sanctions. I'm basically asking that you obey the WP:IAR and WP:BURO policies if someone requests enforcement. Nyttend (talk) 16:46, 7 June 2014 (UTC)
- I think you don't need to ask me, you need to ask the sanctioning admin. I don't see IAR as applying here, the exceptions to topic bans are described at WP:BANEX, and discussing category deletions isn't among them. Besides, per WP:OWN, no one editor is particularly responsible for what happens to any page, including categories. Sandstein 21:11, 7 June 2014 (UTC)
Could you restore this one to my user space please? Thanks. Philafrenzy (talk) 09:03, 10 June 2014 (UTC)
- OK, at User:Philafrenzy/European Journal of Post-Classical Archaeologies. Sandstein 09:52, 10 June 2014 (UTC)
Thank you
for your judgement on the SAS81 AE. Not only was the judgement fair in my opinion, but it extended in a practical way to the working environment of the article talk page where it should make editing easier for everyone.(Littleolive oil (talk) 19:41, 11 June 2014 (UTC))
Question about topic ban
When was [2] lifted? Because if it is still in place he's ignoring it. Thanks. Dougweller (talk) 09:44, 12 June 2014 (UTC)
- If so, the place to report it would be WP:AE. Sandstein 10:02, 12 June 2014 (UTC)
- Yes, just wondered if you knew if it had been lifted. I can't find any evidence it has been lifted, so I guess I'll take this to AE in a little while. Dougweller (talk) 10:41, 12 June 2014 (UTC)
- Not that I know of. That should be noted on the log page. Sandstein 10:58, 12 June 2014 (UTC)

Dougweller, stop abusing my TP. And it is interesting, when and where did I violate my topic ban? Jaqeli (talk) 11:41, 12 June 2014 (UTC)
- I'm not abusing your talk page and I've taken your removals to ANI. I'm not sure you've violated it recently, as I said at ANI, but you certainly did with [3] and [4]. Dougweller (talk) 11:53, 12 June 2014 (UTC)
- Yes you are. I know well what my topic ban is. And where did you see a topic ban violation there? You're not sure but you're blaming me for what I haven't done? Jaqeli (talk) 12:03, 12 June 2014 (UTC)
Khabboos Topic Ban Violation
This edit [5] by Khabboos on the Anti-Hinduism article seems to violate his Topic Ban. While the specific edit in question deals with Bangladesh, the article has a lot of religious overlap with India Pakistan and Afganistan. VVikingTalkEdits 15:29, 12 June 2014 (UTC)

You said I can appeal my Topic Ban at anytime (see here: [[6]]), so I have asked for my Topic Ban to be lifted here: [[7]] - please do the needful. Thanks!—Khabboos (talk) 16:42, 14 June 2014 (UTC)

Well, I think the sanctions against me are false and inappropriate. No one has entered my arguments and explanations and has been shown arguments against my edits or sources (so in the article FK Trepča). Nobody explained fexactly for what I was punished so excessively hard. Lets control togehtehr and view the allegations and facts.
Here a new source, an Bosniak source from Radio Sarajevo not Serbian, which said the same what I said, what i tried to explain before, see here...[27]. On the left side you can see the FK Trepča player against Partizan Belgrade. So my topic ban is really unfair Sandstein.Nado158 (talk) 14:37, 15 June 2014 (UTC) |
- Sorry, the above is far too long for me to read and respond to thoroughly. Please be more concise. Sandstein 17:04, 15 June 2014 (UTC)
Jaqeli
Just a quick question, though I'm sure you're exasperated by the whole saga by now from what I've read, does user Jaqeli's ban cover all articles relating to Georgia and Armenia, including articles that only deal with one and not the other, or only articles that cover both of them simultaneously? If it is the former, then would his discussion here violate the ban? Thanks. Sotakeit (talk) 10:13, 13 June 2014 (UTC)
- It's the latter. Sandstein 11:42, 13 June 2014 (UTC)
Question regarding User:Jaqeli and topic ban
User:Jaqeli nominated Pharnavaz I of Iberia for Good Article status. After I did the review, I realized that they are under a topic ban against editing articles relating to Georgia and Armenia. Does the ban extend to ancient Georgian history? I noted on their talk page and on the nomination list that the user is under a topic ban, and that once the ban is lifted they can address the issues that I brought up with the nomination. Today they have edited the article in question in response to my review - is this within the scope of the ban or not? Please let me know promptly.--¿3family6 contribs 21:29, 13 June 2014 (UTC)
- Somehow User:Jaqeli can't comprehend that the article is subject to his topic ban, since it mentions both Georgians and Armenians. Still, it has almost passed GA and can probably do so if you will give him an exemption from his ban to work on it. Thanks, EdJohnston (talk) 22:33, 13 June 2014 (UTC)
- An exemption would have to be requested before, rather than after, making edits that violate an editing restriction. I have blocked Jaqeli for violating their topic ban. Sandstein 06:41, 14 June 2014 (UTC)
So how should I proceed? Even though Jaqeli violated the ban, their edits to Pharnavaz I of Iberia satisfied the problems I found preventing the article from achieving GA status. Can I approve an article for GA even though the edits improving it violated a topic ban?--¿3family6 contribs 13:45, 14 June 2014 (UTC)
- Sorry, I don't know whether or how sanctions affect the GA process. I can't give you an answer. Sandstein 13:57, 14 June 2014 (UTC)
- I brought this up on the GA nominations talk page.--¿3family6 contribs 16:47, 14 June 2014 (UTC)

- I'd favor going ahead with the article promotion to GA. Jaqeli will be able to take credit for his work at such time as his topic ban expires or is lifted. EdJohnston (talk) 16:58, 17 June 2014 (UTC)
- I'll go ahead and approve it, then.--¿3family6 contribs 18:29, 17 June 2014 (UTC)

Old drafts
Hi, I was tidying links after a deletion and came across one of your old draft articles (see Special:Prefixindex/User:Sandstein/Drafts). Please tag these with {{user draft}} if you are still working on them, or {{db-author}} if you no longer need them. WP:STALEDRAFT says such pages should not be kept indefinitely. Inadvertently violated topic ban
I'm just notifying you that while trying to make a constructive edit on the James Delingpole article, I have mistakenly violated the 6-month topic ban you issued to me in January. I very obliviously calculated it to end on 14 June instead of 14 July. Here is the revision in question. I don't know to which degree of seriousness this offence is, but I fully accept any repercussions that are decided appropriate. --Kaj Taj Mahal (talk) 15:35, 24 June 2014 (UTC)

accusations of complicity in Armenian Genocide by Turks
You might wish to look at Sabanci family etc. and note the repeated weakly sourced accusations that they owe their wealth to the Armenian Genocide etc. Discussions at RS/N determined the "sources" have some anecdotes about individuals buying specific buildings, but the broad accusation is not supported by them, but I am being berated as somehow anti-Armenian or having some "rationale" for insisting that such a charge is, in fact, an accusation of a crime. Cheers. Collect (talk) 21:50, 25 June 2014 (UTC)
- Sorry, but I am not really interested in the topic. I f you think that sanctions are warranted, you should make a request at WP:AE. Sandstein 03:55, 26 June 2014 (UTC)

DYK for The Legend of Korra (action video game)
On 29 June 2014, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article The Legend of Korra (action video game), which you recently created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that the action video game The Legend of Korra is intended to be visually indistinguishable from the animated TV series on which it is based? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/The Legend of Korra (action video game). You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, live views, daily totals), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page. |

Thanks Sandstein. To clear things out about my TBAN. Would you give me a right to edit some articles who could have TBAN material in it if I ask you for an exemption before I edit them? Jaqeli 11:29, 28 June 2014 (UTC)
- Jaqeli, that's an unbelievable suggestion. You need to NOT think about any of the articles that are part of your TBAN - even suggesting that you want to edit them shows that you don't get it. If you ask to edit a TBAN-related article, you can be blocked for violating your TBAN. the panda ₯’ 11:37, 28 June 2014 (UTC)
