Self-citation
[edit]Thanks for your nice edits to articles metal sulfides. Please read WP:COI. A high percentage of your citations are to your own publications, which poses a conflict of interest. The way to address this problem is to completely avoid citing your own papers. Or do so rarely. I am sure that your intentions are completely honorable, so my advice is offered only to help a good editor avoid potential issues. Best wishes and happy editing.--Smokefoot (talk) 01:16, 5 June 2012 (UTC)
- Hi Smokefoot. Thank you for your observation. I am sorry for that - I am relatively new to wikipedia editing, and I was trying to write something about things I know about. But of course I understand that self-citation should be avoided. I have undone some of my recent changes which included self-citations and will be more careful in the future. Best wishes. Sanchogalileo (talk) 11:23, 5 June 2012 (UTC)
- I was just suggesting that you be careful, because you appear to be a promising editor and we have few that know enough to even publish. Many of us started in the same way as you did (actually your papers looked great), I just want to protect a promising editor. The main thing that we need are references to textbooks and reviews. So please keep up the good work. --Smokefoot (talk) 12:26, 5 June 2012 (UTC)
February 2016
[edit]Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. This is just a note to let you know that I've moved the draft that you were working on to Draft:Ceria-zirconia, from its old location at User:Sanchogalileo/Ceria-zirconia. This has been done because the Draft namespace is the preferred location for Articles for Creation submissions. Please feel free to continue to work on it there. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to ask me on my talk page. Thank you. /wiae /tlk 13:58, 17 February 2016 (UTC)

LoudLizard (talk) 18:29, 24 February 2016 (UTC)Welcome, but be careful
[edit]Here are suggested readings: WP:SECONDARY and WP:COI. The gist of these guidelines are:
- Wikipedia prefers citations to reviews and books, not primary journal references (tens of thousands appear annually). Citing secondary sources is the encyclopedic style.
- Do not cite yourself or your colleagues. It's called conflict of interest. Many new editors cite themselves mainly. That behavior is unacceptable.
If you have questions, many editors can offer advice. Happy editing. --Smokefoot (talk) 12:57, 3 November 2016 (UTC)
Quantitative Estimation of Druglikeness moved to draftspace
[edit]Thanks for your contributions to Quantitative Estimation of Druglikeness. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. I dream of horses (Hoofprints) (Neigh at me) 19:09, 17 October 2024 (UTC)
