- The lobby of the building that houses the College of Engineering Dean's Office is named in his honor,
- as is an annual College of Engineering award lecture.
- In 1999 DeLisi initiated the Nation's first Ph.D. program in bioinformatics
- and served as Chair for more than a decade.
- With more than 150 Ph.D. alumni in bioinformatics and systems biology, the Boston University program remains the largest program in the world.
- In recognition of his scientific and administrative contributions, an annual award for the best PhD dissertation in Bioinformatics and Systems Biology has been named in his honor.
