Babel

[edit]

Naimbag nga aldaw, kabsat! Agaramidak koma iti template para iti Babel nga mangipakita nga iti user ket agusuusar iti Ilokano. Anya ngata iti mayat nga translation iti daytoy nga mensahe?

This user is a native speaker of Ilokano.

Agyamanak. -- bluemask (talk) 01:01, August 1, 2005 (UTC)

Naimbag nga orasmo, kabsat! Agyamanak iti mensahe! Nagsayaat ketdin dayta napanunotmo, tapno adda met kastatayo nga Ilokano! Mabalin ngata daytoy:
Daytoy a user ket patneng nga Ilokano.
wenno
Daytoy a user ket patneng nga agsasao iti Ilokano.
Saluyot 01:14, August 1, 2005 (UTC)

Nalpasen nga naaramid dagiti templates. Mabalin mo nga kitaen iti Babel nu kasatno nga usaren ken iti User page ko a kas ejemplo. -- bluemask (talk) 06:33, August 1, 2005 (UTC)

--Chris 08:06, 1 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Nagmayat a talaga daytoy a napanunutmo, kabsat. Itan ke adda listaan ti users nga Ilokano ti pagsasaoda. 443 02:42, August 7, 2005 (UTC)
Agyamanak unay kadagiti Ilokano templates, Bluemask! Nakitakon ken impankon iti userpageko agraman Tagalog Babel template. Saluyot 08:19, August 1, 2005 (UTC)

==Welcome==+

Nakitak ti entryyo idiay Wikipedia:Wikipedians/Philippines. So, nakatira pala kayo sa Tuguegarao! I am part Ibanag - my great-great-grandfather Canuto Fermin was born there in 1881. I was wondering if you can help me find the address and phone number of a relative in Tuguegarao. She is about 93 years old and is the niece of Canuto Fermin. Her name is Basilisa "Sisang" Gutierrez San Pedro. Pwede 'nyo po akong tulungan? Agyamanak. --Chris 08:02, 1 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I'm almost ten years here in Tuguegarao and was in love with pancit batil patong but I'm not yet conversant in Ibanag or Itawes although nakakaintindi ako ng konti lang. Tagalog kasi ang salita dito at maraming Ilokano kaya hindi ako natututong mag-Ibanag. My family is here at dito ako nagtatrabaho.
Maraming salamat. --Chris 10:52, 1 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Counting in pre-20th century Ilokano

[edit]

Mr. Aragon - FYI - iti blogko nagsuratak maipapan iti daan a sistema ti panagbilang dagiti Ilokano ket dagiti sabali nga Pilipino (Tagalog, Waray, & Kapampangan). No kayatyo basaen, ti URL ti blogko ket http://salitablog.blogspot.com. Also, I read your blog and I see that you mentioned the controversy between me and the anonymous Wikipedian user concerning Ilokano. I was not able to understand a whole lot - what was the gist of what you said? Agyamanak, apo --Chris 18:28, 6 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Chris, thanks, I read your blog. Thank you also for reading my blog. I am now experiencing the same predicament regarding wikipedia editing. In the Ilokano literature page/article that I started, somebody is editing an original essay I lifted from a book (particularly changing some terms in it) and he is insisting his own authority and when I demand his/her explanation or opinion, he/she insulted me by saying "Ilocano is the standard English spelling and Wikipedia is written in English. Roy V. Aragon, don't you understand that? Can you understand my simple English? Please don't make me mad." I find it ridiculous. He/she doesn't want to discuss the thing with me and he/she goes on deleting my edits and reverting his/her own revisions to the essay. I/m thinking that I may just exclude the said essay in fairness to the author whos is actually my "ninong sa kasal." Chris, may I know what's your opinion?
About what I blogged regarding your discussion with that anonymous wikipedian, I only mentioned or explained what I presume about the "e". Sabi ko sa pagkakaalam ko at naoobserbahan ko sa mga native iloko speakers, pare-pareho ang pagsasalita nila sa "e" sa mga nabanggit kong salita doon.
Saluyot 00:37, August 8, 2005 (UTC)
I edited the article and reverted it back to the K. However, as a compromise, I added the C spelling in parenthesis. Don't worry about Ed666, kasi tutulungan ko kayo. Just remember, to not violate the Wikipedia:Three revert rule. That probably will not happen to you, because I'll be there. However, he may do it himself, and I will report him. Do you know if he is 67.188.127.149, Dinardaraan, Grandma Grammatica, and Doktora? These might be sock puppets and that would violate the 3RR if he uses those accounts within a 24 hour period.. --Chris 02:13, 8 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks a lot! At salamat na naman uli sa pag-revert mo mula sa vandalism ni 172.165.240.49. I just wish these people would pay a little respect by discussing the issue in the talk page. I know na may reason din sila why they insist their opinion. oobserbahan ko pa kung iisa ang mga ito. Again my thanks. --Saluyot 01:12, August 11, 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for your vote but I was already promoted. BTW, my father was born in San Fernando La Union. My grandmother is from Ilocos Norte. My family name is Martinez. Our ilocano relatives are Agcaoli, Montillas, Fernandez, etc.--Jondel 01:59, 8 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't know na admin ka na pala, ngayon ko lang kasi nakita yung nomination page. Congratulations ngarud! I'm glad to know of your Ilokano roots! So, you might be related to Aurelio S. Agcaoili, an Ilokano writer and educator, who is a native of Laoag City? Anyway, being a newbie wikipedian, I hope to learn more, especially from you, your guidance. -- Saluyot 02:14, August 8, 2005 (UTC)

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Saluyot! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 298 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

A tag has been placed on Steklovata requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject of the article is important or significant: that is, why an article about it should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you can assert the importance of the subject, . Clicking that button will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the article's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. You may freely add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

Proposed blackout in protest of RA 10175

[edit]

Dear Saluyot,

Greetings!

As a Filipino Wikipedian, I hope you are aware of the passage of Republic Act No. 10175, also known as the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012, which was signed into law by President Benigno Aquino III on September 12, 2012. Currently, there is a discussion on the Tambayan, the noticeboard for Philippines-related topics, about a proposed blackout of the English Wikipedia in the Philippines in order to protest the passage of RA 10175, similar to the blackout against SOPA and PIPA held earlier this year. I feel that your input on the subject will definitely help in the discussion.

Please feel free to participate in the discussion at Wikipedia talk:Tambayan Philippines#The Cybercrime Prevention Act, and I hope your input will help the Filipino Wikipedia community determine which is the best course of action against this law. Similarly, we hope to get as much input from as many Wikipedians as possible.

Thank you and maraming salamat po!

Kind regards,

2019 US Banknote Contest

[edit]
US Banknote Contest
November-December 2019

There are an estimated 30,000 different varieties of United States banknotes, yet only a fraction of these are represented on Wikimedia Commons in the form of 2D scans. Additionally, Colonial America, the Confederate States, the Republic of Texas, multiple states and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons.

In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate.

If you do not want to receive invitations to future US Banknote Contests, follow the instructions here

Notice

The article Ilocano writers has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This article is a list not a discussion of the titled topic. Furthermore, this is blatantly original research.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. SciPunk (talk) 13:01, 26 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

okey it's now deleted. thanks anyway for your generosity of deleting an important list.
