Why did you delete the Dean Spanos page? It takes about 2 seconds to find out that he is President of the SD Chargers, and that he fired Marty Shottenheimer. This is obviously significant. Rather than taking it upon yourself to unilaterally delete a page, you should add to it, or just leave it alone. Please stop deleting pages.

Kudos!

Re: Shawn Green and the ip editor on it

[edit]

I admitted at the talk page that it was my mistake that I reverted comments by that anon. And I give consecutive warnings, so an editors' nonconstructive editing history can be seen without going to his contributions and checking diffs and do that in hurry which I learned not to do again as you told. Thanks for guiding me, I will surely remember this for future. --SMS Talk 19:45, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

RfA thank-spam

[edit]
Bobet, just a note of appreciation for your recent support of my request for adminship, which ended successfully with 112 supports, 2 opposes, and 1 neutral. If there's something I've realized during my RFA process this last week, it's that adminship is primarily about trust. I will strive to the best of my ability to honour that trust in my future interactions with the community. Many thanks! Gatoclass (talk) 06:18, 17 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks heaps Bobet! I think you do a great job on DYK BTW. Regards, Gatoclass (talk) 06:18, 17 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's common courtesy to inform an author that a page they've created has been placed for deletion. I was kinda miffed that you didn't bother to tell me that you'd placed WP:EVULA up for deletion. EVula // talk // // 00:26, 26 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Thank you for your comment on my RFA. I just wanted to state that if I were to get the tools, I would not be moving DYKS and etc. right away. I would take it slow to get used to it. Thanks again. :) <3 Tinkleheimer TALK!! 19:22, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Forgotten Realms locations

[edit]

Hey, since most of the FR locations have been redirected to Faerûn‎, would you be able to restore the edit histories of a few PRODed (or speedied? not sure on some of them) articles and redirect them there, or would it be better if I ask the deleting admins first? The articles in question are The Vast, Sea of Moving Ice, Lapaliiya, Border Kingdoms, Sembia, Chondalwood, Trackless Sea, Ruathym, Tortured Land, Ravens Bluff, Pirate Isles, and Lake of Steam. BOZ (talk) 00:44, 15 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

OK thanks, that's good enough. :) Copyvios should be left as they were, but a redirect is still helpful. BOZ (talk) 14:26, 15 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks so much for fixing this one. – ukexpat (talk) 13:46, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your help. I;ve asked a few editors who I know are good editors to give it a fresh look. If you have any pointers for improvement please state so on the peer review. The Audio Barnstar

The Audio Barnstar
It is my understanding that Shoemaker's Holiday is probably the first person to have a sound featured in the DYK position on the main page. This was possible because Bobet solved the fomatting problem. Well done. Victuallers (talk) 09:00, 3 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oh dear

[edit]

Hi again, having discovered your skills then I wonder if you could help me with a problem I have been trying to solve for months. I create image maps like the one on my user page or {{User:Victuallers/test|size=300px|align=left|caption=Thanks very much [[user:Bobet]]. I have added a "caption" parameter as a test of my understanding.}}

This template is then transluded onto various pages. However sometimes you want to change the size or have it on the left or the right. Is it possible to change this template so that this is possible? And if so ... then can you explain how ... as I have others with the same problem. Thanks in anticipation. This would be really useful! Victuallers (talk) 22:19, 4 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again, as you can see, with your help, I think I now understand. This is going to be VERY useful. If you are up for a challenge still.... then can you see anyway to put wikitext in the caption? Oh I should mention. This is hard. Its not possible even without a template. Thx again. Victuallers (talk) 13:35, 5 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The draft of Quintino Bocaiúva on this page

[edit]

Hi, when you're working on a draft article, be sure to temporarily disable the category links by inserting a : (colon) at the start of the link, like this:

[[:Category:1836 births]]

When you publish the article, you simply remove the colon. At the moment your talk page appears in the following categories: Category:1912 deaths, Category:Brazilian politicians, Category:1836 births. Best wishes, Voceditenore (talk) 09:17, 9 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ahazu

[edit]

Hi there.  :) I was looking at Ahazu, and I noticed that it was speedy deleted because the only editor on it had blanked the page. I was wondering if there was any useful content under there that could be restored and used for D&D? If it's not Dungeons & Dragon related, then nevermind.  :) BOZ (talk) 14:39, 9 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, that explains what happened - Malcanthet had created a number of demon lord articles, and when he/she started getting into conflicts with other users, (s)he started blanking all the pages (s)he had created. I figure they were trying to get rid of all their contributions, and it looks like that was successful in at least one case. ;) Well, if you don't mind, you could move it back to Ahazu, and if it looks like that one is ground beef then we can always redirect it to Demon lord (Dungeons & Dragons). Thanks again! :) BOZ (talk) 14:16, 10 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Also another one - Otiluke was PRODded in January. It looks like the deleting admin has gone inactive. Could you restore that one, please? We could always redirect to Circle of Eight if necessary. BOZ (talk) 16:09, 10 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for Image:Working Girl Poster.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:Working Girl Poster.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 17:03, 13 September 2008 (UTC) [reply]

Restore PRODs?

[edit]

Hi there, got a couple more for you, if you don't mind. :) The deleting editors on Mak Thuum Ngatha and Barrens of Doom and Despair seem to be inactive. Would it be possible to restore the edit histories? I may merge and redirect them, but I'd have to have a look at them first. Thanks! :) BOZ (talk) 20:27, 21 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks again. :) Could you also take a look at Thann family and The Moonstone Mask? I think they were speedied rather than PROD; if those were not copyvio, could you resotre the edit histories? If they are of particularly low quality and/or notability, I will gladly redirect them until they can be fixed. BOZ (talk) 05:06, 24 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Johnny Lee Clary

[edit]

You closed discussion and voting and your decision was to KEEP. Now the article was submitted for deletion a third time and the nomination for deletion is not in accordance with Wikipedia rules for deletion. Can you remove the nomination for deletion so we don't have to repeat the process all over again? Thank you! This article should not be nominated for deletion. It has already been nominated before and voted on and the result was to keep and closed by you. The article is well sourced and has plenty of references and was not written by Clary himself as Lee C. Ellison alleges. One only has to enter the name of Johnny Lee Clary in any search engine and plenty of sources attests to him as a well known public figure. Most recent news articles have him on the front pages of newspapers all over the world, including New Zealand, Australia and India. In addition there are many news articles written on him in the United States. Just because Lee C. Ellison has never heard of Johnny Angel does not mean no one else has. He never bothered to check his sources on Johnny Angel or Johnny Lee Clary. www.onlineworldofwrestling carries his bio as well as other wrestling websites. This article should not only be voted to KEEP but it should be sent to an administrator and a protest be filed that it was improperly re-nominated for deletion in accordance with Wikipedia standards. Marcus Bartley

[edit]

Please reinstate the page on Marcus Bartley - he was an important Anglo Indian cinematographer in the early era of South Indian films in the 1970s.

Please refer to this

That's great, but the article wasn't about the same person. Full content of the deleted article was:
"KOTTE RAKESH was born on 28th JULY 1984 in INDIA in a place called KURNOOL a district from Andra Pradesh".
If you want to write a real article about the cinematographer, go right ahead. - Bobet 14:33, 1 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Notification of pending suspension of administrative permissions due to inactivity

[edit]

Information icon Following a community discussion in June 2011, consensus was reached to provisionally suspend the administrative permissions of users who have been inactive for one year (i.e. administrators who have not made any edits or logged actions in over one year). As a result of this discussion, your administrative permissions will be removed pending your return if you do not return to activity within the next month. If you wish to have these permissions reinstated should this occur, please post to the Wikipedia:Bureaucrats' noticeboard and the userright will be restored per the re-sysopping process (i.e. as long as the attending bureaucrats are reasonably satisfied that your account has not been compromised, that your inactivity did not have the effect of evading scrutiny of any actions which might have led to sanctions, and that you have not been inactive for a three year period of time). If you remain inactive for a three year period of time, including the present year you have been inactive, you will need to request reinstatement at WP:RFA. This removal of access is procedural only, and not intended to reflect negatively upon you in any way. We wish you the best in future endeavors, and thank you for your past administrative efforts.
