Richard Barrett (lawyer)
[edit]The reason I removed those links from the "external links" section of Richard Barrett (lawyer) is that they are blogs, and so do not meet the requirements of our guidelines on external links. Please review that guideline before reinserting them or adding other blog links to articles. ·:· Will Beback ·:· 23:56, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
At issue are two links:
- Richard Barrett Exposed Article about Barrett
- Richard Barrett Racist Hall of Shame member Article about Barrett
According to whom are these two webmasters/bloggers authorities on Richard Barrett? ·:· Will Beback ·:· 00:26, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
It is a known fact that Johnny Lee Clary is an expert and recognized authority on Neo-Nazis and Nationalists, and it is a proven fact that Richard Barrett is a Neo Nazi. Clary is an author and has appeared on many talk shows as an authority. His article on Barrett should stand. If you do not wish to recognize Clary as an authority, shall we go to arbitration or get it up for a vote? ReaganRebel 20:34, 14 December 2007
- Well, he's not a credentialed authority, but he could be considered to have a noteworthy opinion. What about the other blog? ·:· Will Beback ·:· 08:26, 16 December 2007 (UTC)
The other blog I am unsure about. It appears to have the same information that the Racist Hall of Shame article has so I would just go with that one only. ReaganRebel 1:40am, 17 December 2007
Re: Johnny Lee Clary
[edit]Hi, there's no rule preventing someone from listing an article for deletion a second (or third) time. It's only an issue if the nomination is clearly disruptive, or if it's done at really short intervals (less than a month or so). Now, it's possible that the nominator is a single-purpose account, since his only edits are regarding the topic, but since the rest of the commenters in the discussion (other than you) have similarly short edit histories, I'm sure they can handle the thing among themselves. Thanks. - Bobet 17:09, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
Hi. I definitely think that this article should stay. I'm not an administrator and I can't really influence whether it stays other than to !vote in AfDs. However, the article seems put for now. - Richard Cavell (talk) 02:10, 22 February 2009 (UTC)
Wade Watts
[edit]Clary's story about Wade Watts kissing a chicken is definitely a fake. The story first appeared in print in 1964, in comedian Dick Gregory's autobiography nigger . (The story is helpfully excerpted on the back cover, seen here and here. Further, the book is full of his stand up material, which began in 1957-- meaning that the chicken joke dates between 1957 and 1964. Johnny Lee Clary was born in 1959 and claims that the story took place while he was in his twenties. This means either Clary miraculously gave Watts the perfect setup for a punchline (written 20 years earlier), or he told Dick Gregory's comedy material as if it were a real story that happened to him.
Also, the sources you provided on my talk page all simply retread or report on Clary's telling of the story, rather than verifying it in anyway. Just because a fake story has been repeated doesn't mean it's true.

Wade Watts
[edit]Johnny Lee Clary's story about Wade Watts kissing a chicken is NOT a fake. Watts himself tells it and verifies it. [[ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ejOWchwQxvw ( 5:20 ) ]] Whether Watts knew Dick Gregory and about the incident he writes about is unknown and could have been where he got the idea to handle Clary and the Klan if he did, but to say Clary's story is fake is just and slanderous accusation with no proof. <ref>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ejOWchwQxvw ( 5:20 )<ref> ReaganRebel(talk) 13:54, 24 March 2014 (UTC)
