I've reverted your merge

[edit]

Because firstly, it was a merge in the wrong direction. Mother of the Believers should merge to Muhammad's wives, not the other way around. And most importantly, it wasn't done following the merge guideline.

Umm, I am doing it for the first time so it taking me more than one attempt. It becomes more difficult to go back and fix my errors when you keep changing them up on me as well while I am trying!! P.S. The final page should be Mother of the believers, that's the official title and an identity with Islamic significance vs. Muhammads wives.--Salikk (talk) 19:22, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Reverted it again. I agree with DeadEyeArrow. DEA needs to sign comments. Sljaxon (talk) 19:26, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I don't understand, what am I doing wrong??--Salikk (talk) 19:27, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Basically you can't merge a page by simply copying and pasting. There is a proper procedure to go through. As a new user, you probably don't know about it. It is,as pointed out above, the merge guideline. Please take a look at it.Bless sins (talk) 19:29, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I tried, am doing what it says. It says put redirect messages and edits. It says under "Full-content paste merger" that you can copy paste. I give up. I have no idea what I seem to be missing. Can you or someone else do it instead then??--Salikk (talk) 19:34, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The problem is that your are replacing one page with the content of another, which isn't what a merger is. You add it to the end of the destination article, and cleanup afterwards. And again the merge was Mother of the Believers to Muhammad's wives, which was consensus, not the other way around. You are welcome to discuss where the article should merge to on the talk page. And I apologize for not signing earlier, I have that habit. --ÐeadΣyeДrrow (Talk | Contribs) 19:41, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I moved the material from Mother of the believers into the Muhammads wives page almost a month back so in a sense the content has already merged. I didn't know how to get the pages to switch over back then so I left that part out. Hope that clarifies the first objection. I'll go look into the which page where discussion again and see what it leads to. Thanks.--Salikk (talk) 19:48, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I reverted your cut-and-paste merging of the above talk pages, for the same reasons as already explained, and I redirected Mother of the Believers to Muhammad's wives as there wasn't anything thing there that wasn't already covered. I hope that clears it up.--Cúchullain t/c 20:07, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, that was a left-over that they didn't revert I guess. It was confusing as we were going around chasing each other around. I started a discussion on the Muhammad's wives page on which page should be the one that holds the contents.--Salikk (talk) 20:11, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked

[edit]

Hi, I can't see anything on this checkuser that this asks me to. I don't know any Tigeroo, I made an account because IP kept getting blocked and it said making one would allow me to avoid getting locked out.--Salikk (talk) 18:53, 19 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
