The article Escapist Skateboarding has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Local businesses are generally not considered notable. NawlinWiki 00:30, 18 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

18.th Street

[edit]

I wrote an article about de:Kansas City Jazz and need some pictures to illustrate 18.th and Vine. Can you move your pictures to commons, or do you have some others to illustrate this topic? Kansas City

[edit]

Regarding the subject you raised on WP:AN: I think that keeping it redirected to the metropolitan area is the best option due to the fact that there are two equally valid Kansas Cities, Kansas City, KS and Kansas City, MO. Someone searching for "Kansas City" may want either KCK or KCMo, and outsiders especially may not know at first that there are two cities by that name just across the river from one another. (My best friend's family actually had an argument about what state Kansas City was in, until I had to step in and delicately inform them they were both right.) Thus, taking them to the metro area article clears up any confusion, educates them as to the presence of both cities, and avoids upsetting folks on the Kansas side. —Scott5114 [EXACT CHANGE ONLY] 08:12, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Kansas City, KS is hardly a suburb; both towns were founded at about the same time (or at least far before the concept of a "suburb" was even developed), and KCK has suburbs in its own right (Overland Park, Shawnee, Olathe, etc.). As a frequent visitor to the Kansas side, I can tell you that its residents would absolutely balk if they were characterized as a suburb. (It certainly has more city-like than suburban-like characteristics.) The preferred perception is that there's just "Kansas City", and there's a Kansas side and a Missouri side (even though the two cities are indeed politically separate, the residents don't really consider themselves to be residents of separate cities). The Dallas, MO thing isn't really the same thing, as there is less chance for confusion there as there is a large distance between the two—they are not part of the same metro area and are not interrelated as the two Kansas Cities are. —Scott5114 [EXACT CHANGE ONLY] 18:34, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That's not all...

I love nearly all CLAMP manga, and Shonen Jump is pretty cool too, especially Bleach. The anime for Shin Chan is hilarious! Thanks for the compliment! Sakuraluver (talk) 20:19, 20 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia! I am glad to see you are interested in discussing a topic. However, as a general rule, talk pages such as Talk:Fox News Channel controversies are for discussion related to improving the article, not general discussion about the topic. If you have specific questions about certain topics, consider visiting our reference desk and asking them there instead of on article talk pages. Thank you. An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is DON'T DO IT Campaign. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/DON'T DO IT Campaign. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:11, 17 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
