Nano-Naphrology
[edit]Nano-Naphrology: Revolutionizing Renal Medicine
introduction:
At the nexus of nephrology and nanotechnology, the area of nano-naphrology is rapidly developing, with the goal of using creative Nano-scale treatments to address the complex problems in renal medicine. Because they can now alter matter at the nanoscale, researchers are coming up with new ways to diagnose, treat, and track kidney ailments with previously unheard-of accuracy.[1]
Understanding Nano Naphrology:
Nephrology is the study and practice of kidney disease, such as hypertension [2] electrolyte abnormalities, as well as the management of patients requiring renal replacement therapy, such as those undergoing dialysis or undergoing kidney transplantation. [3]
A nephrologist is a medical professional who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of kidney disease.[4] The study of healthy kidney function, kidney disease, kidney health preservation, kidney disease treatment (including dialysis and kidney transplantation) and dietary changes is known as nephrology.
Nephrologists [5] also study systemic problems that directly affect the kidneys, like diabetes and autoimmune diseases, as well as conditions that result from kidney disease, such as hypertension and renal osteodystrophy.
Applications of Nano Naphrology in Renal Medicine:
Nanoparticle-Based Drug Delivery Systems: The field of nanophrology utilizes nanoparticles as vehicles for specific medicine delivery to the kidneys. By specifically accumulating in renal tissues, these nanoparticles can be designed to reduce systemic adverse effects and improve therapeutic efficacy.
Nanoengineered Renal Replacement Therapies: There are some drawbacks to conventional renal replacement treatments including hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis. The study of nanoengineered materials for next-generation renal replacement therapies , such as bioartificial renal tissues and artificial kidneys, is known as nanophrology.[6] Saira-ajmal-22 (talk) 08:15, 27 April 2024 (UTC)
