Barisal photography and Film Society [BPFS]
[edit]Barisal photography and Film Society [BPFS] is a Facebook & Flickr based Online Photography Group based on Bangladeshi people who are mostly focused in exploring the beauty and nature of Bangladesh & Barisal.
Barisal photography and Film Society [BPFS] was founded in 21 February 2011 by few dedicated senior and experienced photographers with a slogan (A journey to dream)
Members of this Photography group is not based on any specific genre but they most of all verity like - they have Students, Professionals and Researchers. .
A three-day Photography exhibition and Film festival was held on March 26, 2011 at Ashwini Kumar Hall in Barisal city. This was the first such event by Barisal photography and Film Society [BPFS]. [[Barisal]] City Corporation (BCC)’s former Mayor Advocate Shawkat Hossain Hiron inaugurated the program
[BPFS] frequent monthly Photo Walks and Cultural events and Exploring new places.
1st photo walk by BPFS was held on 21 February 2011 on the International Mother language day at Barisal Shaheed Minar.
Shipbuilding is a growing industry in Bangladesh & of course in Barisal with great potentials. [BPFS] arranged their 2nd photo walk on shipyard worker in Sunderban nevigation company Barisal. that was the huge photo walk arranged by [BPFS]. 51 armature & professional photographer was joined in photo walk. Photos that was taken from Dockyard was published in Symposium magazine.
May 22 & June 04, 2014 [BPFS] members explored polashpur slam & Bibichini shahi Mosjid
As Israel continued killing innocent Palestinians in Gaza, July 23, 2014 Barisal photography and Film Society [BPFS] organised a human chain in front of Ashwini Kumar Hall to show their Solidarity with Humanity for save Gaza.
