The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Blue Saints Drum and Bugle Corps, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.corpsreps.com/corpsreps.cfm?view=corpshist&corps=73&corpstype=Junior.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. PLEASE STOP!!!

[edit]

Please stop doing a poor job of trying to write new drum corps articles... I had your 7th Regmient article deleted yesterday, since there already was a much more complete article with the corps' name spelled correctly. Transferring text verbatim from another source is NOT the way to create a new article, nor is putting in an infobox with no supporting text or data .

I was in the act of creating a new article for Coastal Surge when, suddenly, lo and behold, I was editing same, because you thought you were creating it by posting some information that lacked most of what is needed for a Wikipedia article...

In addition to having your 7th Regmient article deleted, I also reverted much of your other work, because the information you inserted into existing work was wrong... For example: Blue Devils B and Blue Devils C already have their own articles and did not need to be linked to the article for the Blue Devils; same-same for Colt Cadets and Colts; your link for Impulse!, which does not yet have an article, was to the article for Impulse! Records; et cetera, et cetera, and so on...

Before you continue creating articles or making changes to existing articles, please, please, please take the time to learn how it is done properly... GWFrog (talk) 14:15, 20 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Trying is fine, as long as you know what you are doing... The drum corps content in Wikipedia is slowly expanding, but it sometimes seems like I spend more of the time I spend on drum corps correcting other people's "help" than in contributing new material... Help from people who have taken the time to learn the proper procedures is more than welcome, and there are several editors who occasionally contribute, although the WikiProject Drum Corps is essentially defunct... If you can't or don't want to take the time to learn, then, if you have something you think should be included, leave me a message on my talk page, and I will try to take care of it... Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Columbians Drum and Bugle Corps requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. G S Palmer (talkcontribs) 15:22, 29 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I guess you saw that I saved it from deletion and added actual content. However, I spent the afternoon researching, writing, and rewriting while trying to watch World Cup soccer rather than kicking back and watching the games in a leisurely manner... GWFrog (talk) 00:16, 30 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

HEY!!! STOP!!! PLEASE STOP!!!

[edit]

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE...

Take the time to examine a good drum corps article, seeing what MUST be there for it to be a valid Wikipedia article...

It MUST have informational content...

It MUST have such things as a DEFAULTSORT name and listings of the Categories it fits...

If these things are absent, the article is almost certain to get an almost immediate nomination for speedy deletion...

If an article is deleted, it is damned difficult to create a good new article with the same name...

I know you are trying to help, but, if you continue without knowing what you are doing, you are hurting more than you are helping...

I saw that you just tried to start an article for Eruption, and it is a sure candidate for speedy deletion...

I saved your Columbians start, but I do not have time to do anything about saving Eruption right now...

caption winners...

[edit]

Sure, I don't have a problem with that... Some of the jerks who don't think drum corps is a notable activity might, so be forewarned that some of them are deletion-happy where drum corps is concerned... (Which is one big reason why many of the former drum corps editors are no longer around..) Be sure to cite your references... GWFrog (talk) 02:15, 29 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Silver, bronze

[edit]

Please do NOT add silver & bronze to corps' score summaries... We already had one senior moderator threaten to delete ALL former champion corps corps' pages for excessive color use with only the gold... I had to fight to keep that... GWFrog (talk) 15:33, 9 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I figured you didn't know... Someone else had the same idea a few weeks back & one anal moderator almost immediately slapped a "Speedy delete" tag on the first page that had been done... I was online & saw it on my Watchlist almost immediately... The mod and I had a long back-and-forth "discussion" about it; I got the mod to back off, got the other drum corps editor to stop & reverted what had already been done... Gold is okay for champions, but we do not want to get carried away... Probably the biggest reason that so many former drum corps editors are former editors is that there are LOTS of mods who think that drum corps is not notable and should not be covered in the Wikipedia, so that many, many drum corps articles have been deleted by those people in the past, causing the editors to leave Wikipedia in disgust... A tag has been placed on Gamexchange requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. I moved the article to Draft:Gamexchange to give you more, but not unlimited, time to show why this company is notable. Be sure to read the links in your welcome message above to see what the article needs.----Fabrictramp | talk to me 03:51, 17 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I am in the process of editing the article, I have a brief history of the company I found online however I am trying to contact them directly to get a more in depth history as I cannot find one on the website

Your draft article, Draft:Gamexchange

[edit]

Hello, Sagemode67. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Gamexchange".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! UnitedStatesian (talk) 02:43, 10 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
