Smith & Wesson Model 4006

[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Smith & Wesson Model 4006. It's very interesting to get that inside info on the day-to-day practices, etc.[1] However I'd encourage you to read The Wikipedia policy on verifiable content. WP:V. Basically, personal knowledge is not sufficient. There has to be a published source which anyone can verify. Is there any chance that this content has been covered in training manuals which you could reference? Otherwise I'm afraid it would be deleted. Rezin (talk) 23:17, 4 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I have manuals and letters and photos. This was my first attempt at making an e Entery and I could not figure out how to do the footnotes or the photos any help that you could give would be greatly appreciated. Paul Olson, pjo351@yahoo.com

I understand - we all started out the same way. Perhaps the best thing would be to list the verifiable references, etc, on the article's talk page: talk:Smith & Wesson Model 4006#California State Parks. Then myself and other editors can help format them correctly. FYI, letters and private photos probably won't make the grade. See WP:IRS to help identify reliable sources. If there are personal photos of the firearm in use which you'd like to contribute to the project those would be a great addition. However the rules on that require that you basically give up any rights and put them into the public domain. Let me know if you're interested and I can track down more details.
