Pema Dolma Lama is the former National Football Player (Captain), FIFA Referee, FIFA Referee Instructor and FIFA Referee Assessor of Nepal. She is the first international goal scorer from Nepal. She is also the first female FIFA Referee Instructor from Nepal.
Current Involvement
[edit]Now, she is the Ex-Co Member of All Nepal Football Association and working for the development of women's football in Nepal, as the President of ANFA Women's Committee and General Secretary of All Nepal Women's Football Association.[1] She is serving as the Police Inspector in Nepal Police and had previously been the part of United Mission in East Timore for almost three years.
Football / Soccer Career
[edit]She was fond of sports and played football from her childhood. She started her playing career from 1988 with Narayani team, which represent a zone of Nepal. She was awarded the Best Player Award in the National Games held at Pokhara. She participated in 12th Asian Women's Football Championships held in Philippines in 1999 and scored the first international goal against Uzbekistan. She completed her study of Masters in Political Science from Tribhuvan University in 1999. She participated in Futuro Course- a Referee Course in 1998, in Nepal. She became the FIFA Referee from 2000 to 2010. She served as the FIFA Referee Instructor from 2010 t0 2016 and traveled to different nations like Bangaladesh, India, Srilanka, Maldives and more. She participated in First AFC Women's Football Seminar, Jordan in 2017 and Second AFC Women's Football Seminar, Malaysia in 2018.
Latest Activities
[edit]She participated in 69th FIFA Congress held in Paris, France on June 5 2019 and witnessed the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup too. She also participated in Sports Visitor Program managed by U.S. Embassy in Nepal from June 30 to July 12 2019, along with selected five other youth female footballers.[2] The group visited the U.S. to learn about female sports in the U.S. and celebrated the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup on the field with American peers. She traveled to Kyrgystan with National Women's Football Team of Nepal participating in Nadezhda Cup, as the Team Manager. She was also the Team Manager of National Women's Football Team of Nepal that won Silver Medal during 13th South Asian Games held at Pokhara from December 1 to 10, 2019.
