You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on User talk:MikeWazowski. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Should that prove unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. If the edit warring continues, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. MikeWazowski (talk) 15:05, 10 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Minor edits

[edit]

I notice you have marked many if not all your recent edits as minor -- however, few if any are what Wikipedia considers minor edits. Please be more circumspect in clicking in that checkbox, or change your default settings so that "mark all edits as minor" is no longer the default. Thank you! --EEMIV (talk) 01:31, 20 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:HUM-Front.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:HUM-Front.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 04:46, 20 July 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Salavat (talk) 04:46, 20 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading File:HUM-Front.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 13:40, 20 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Doesn't make a difference how long they've been here - they files above don't have a copyright tag/template. From what you've stated, you can add either the tag {{GFDL-self}} or {{PD-self}} to the image page and remove the proposed deletion tag. There's just a slight difference between the two licenses - just click on them to read the details. (if you're cutting and pasting the templates from here, remove the t| )Skier Dude (talk 02:42, 12 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being minor in the usual way.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. With the script in place, you can continue with this functionality indefinitely (its use is governed by WP:MINOR). If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 18:53, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Per, Template: Infobox television the field is for "Related TV shows, i.e. remakes, spin-offs, adaptations for different audiences, etc." Futurama is not a related show to The Simpsons. Just because they were both created by Matt Groening does not meant they are actually related. Many people make many shows. Felicity and Lost were both created by J.J. Abrams but are not related in any of the ways listed above. You state "both reference each other numerous times, use the same chronology, and have shared characters, creators, writers, and animators." 1. Referencing another show does not mean it is related: The Simpsons has referenced hundreds of shows, and been referenced on hundreds more. 2. They do not use the same chronology: on Futurama, The Simpsons is frequently stated to be just a TV show and vice versa. 3. They do not have shared characters: Some, such as Bender, have appeared in very minor roles on The Simpsons. That is not a 'shared character'. The characters from Cheers, The X Files and 24 appeared on The Simpsons in far bigger roles. Should they be listed as 'related shows' as well? And 4. As stated about Groening, many writers and directors work on many different shows; a lot of old staffers work on Family Guy and The Cleveland Show now. That's not what 'related shows' means in this context. Gran2 15:20, 1 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

    • Wow, your beyond hopeless. But whatever lets you feel big-boy pants on Wikipedia. I don't really care. But have at it. It's not something to get over. But I'll just point to the Futurama article itself on here and how it says its related to Simpsons, to numerous director/writer commentaries on the DVDs of both Simpsons and Futurama, as well as interviews, etc, from writers stating that Futurama shares the chronology/timeline inherited from Simpsons. See: Jurassic Bark etc.

But like I said. Enjoy your internet big boy pants. Ciao. The Rypcord. 16:35, 1 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

That kind of tone is really not necessary. Please read WP:CIVIL. I was attempting to constructively explain why I believe that they are not related, based on Wikipedia's definitions of what a related show is. You know, because this is an encylcopedia, for facts and stuff. I have no intention to "feel big-boy pants on Wikipedia" as you, eloquently, put it. If you disagree with me, then I suggest you start a discussion on the talk page. Gran2 17:03, 1 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. In your recent article edits, you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
