Thank you!

Hi, just dropping by to say thanks for supporting my RfA, I totally wasn't expecting to get so much support, it was a really pleasant surprise. Melesse (talk) 04:14, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

Template deletion

When you are removing the deleted template Template:Multibanners, you are not restoring the content that was present before application of the template. This is very unfortunate and it should have been considered prior to deletion of the template, but should certainly be considered post-deletion. For instance, in Transelectrica, I have restored the three stub templates that were obliterated by the deletion of Template:Multibanners. Please consider doing the same when you delete the red-link from pages. --User:Ceyockey (talk to me) 01:18, 5 February 2008 (UTC)

I apologize for that warning. I am glad you are returned to your adminship. However, I cannot go without saying that you need to be more careful with your account. I don't believe other admins will be this accommodating the next time your account is hacked. Have a good night! Arbiteroftruth (talk) 02:25, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

Hi... I've removed your listing: [1] as you're not a member of the category. That list is intended to be helpful for those in the category or contemplating being in it. I hope you understand. ++Lar: t/c 03:59, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

removing portal templates

If you remove, for instance, {{portal companies}} (diff), you should replace with {{Portal|companies|Factory.svg}} (diff). The Portal templates were created and applied by multiple wikiprojects. You and others should have approached those wikiprojects and requested that they replace the templates in order to depopulate the deprecated templates. At present your work is tantamount to vandalism, unfortunately, though that was not your intention. I request that you go back to each of the articles that you have removed the template from and replace it with the properly formatted Template:Portal. If you are not prepared to do this, you should not have undertaken the deletion and removal of the various project-specific templates in the first place. --User:Ceyockey (talk to me) 00:59, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

P.S. Unfortunately, this was a completely inappropriate edit. I have reverted it. --User:Ceyockey (talk to me) 01:02, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

The attitude you have expressed on my talk page is not a cooperative one - it expresses a desire to do things mechanically without concern for consequences or the content of the encyclopedia. Cross-links to the portals are content. You are removing content due to a misguided conception that it is ok to do so in order to achieve consistency in template usage right now. You should remember that there is no rush to complete actions like the one under consideration here (there are, of course, things that need speed - this is not one). I would ask that you reconsider your actions. --User:Ceyockey (talk to me) 01:14, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
(responding to your input on my talk page) I have also closed things at TFD (albeit only a couple and quite a while ago). In heavily used templates, the amount of work required to conservatively delete a template that holds significant information can be large ... but that is the price of pursuing such deletions. As I said above, engaging the assistance of the WikiProjects that had created the portal template forks (and if they were created after the parameterized Template:Portal was available, then they should be considered forks) would have obviated the need for a single individual to do the replacement. To extend something I said above ... there is time. The decision to delete can be reached in the time-frame of TfD; that does not mean that the implementation of deletion need be immediate - in this case, immediate implementation was destructive. I would ask that you consider this in the future ... that closure of a TfD need not lead to immediate deletion action, but rather a plan to conservatively delete the template in question. This approach would have a significantly smaller impact on the encyclopedia as a whole. As it stands today, I will likely look through your contribution record to determine instances where you have removed {{portal companies}} and do the replacement. The presence of the red-linked template would have allowed one to at least follow the 'what links here' to all of the instances and do a replace ... but removal of the red-link template means I need to sift through your contribution record. I think we are done here; would you agree? --User:Ceyockey (talk to me) 01:34, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

Project Chanology

Ryan, you should close that AfD down. First, the nominators edit history is full of calling Jimmy Wales a Nazi, cursing, and other abusive language. Second, the first AfD only closed two weeks ago per WP:SNOW. This is an abusive nomination. --David Shankbone 22:02, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

Haha - I used to know as well and forgot and was being lazy. I always forget these things - I usually stay out of this drama. Thanks. --David Shankbone 22:05, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

Can you look at that user's behavior? There really is no need for things like this and I think it warrants a block. Nothing constructive comes from such statements, and they have more than enough warning on their Talk page that a block is warranted. They also did the disruptive AfD, which they now voted to Keep. --David Shankbone 22:09, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

Can you please act on the disruptive actions by Weierstrass (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) ? Multiple warnings and complaints by users including myself, David Shankbone (talk · contribs), and Eleven Special (talk · contribs). Cirt (talk) 22:46, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

Template:Recap

Thank you for your closing of this debate. I wonder if you might add to your closing to address the issue of the user list that was once part of the template but removed midway through. I'm not looking for a yes/no necessarily but this was the most prominent issue, and I think everyone would probably be interested in what you, as the closing admin, have to say about it. Thanks -- Equazcion /C 07:00, 25 Feb 2008 (UTC)

Your RfB

I feel I should reply to your comments, since I was offline when you replied to me. And so I will...

Your response to me really didn't give me any more faith in your 'crat ability; if anything, it gave less. I'm not sure if you realise, or appreciate, the danger of blanket opposition. I also think it concerning that you expect a non-admin to understand what adminship is or how it works.

That's the crux of my issue. I hope you take this on board for next time, if you wish to run again. Regards, dihydrogen monoxide (H20) 08:12, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

Let's do the time warp

Dear Ryan...After a long hiatus from Wikipedia, I came back and started editing. Recently I decided to check on those old templates to see what happened. On 3 October 2006 you must have drawn the short straw to get the tremendous task of deleting almost 100 user templates. Well, one of them has crept back, Template:User CST (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs). It was recreated on 29 October 2007. You might want to look into it since you deleted it.

Have a nice day! - LA @ 11:32, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

PS. I found another one that was recreated, Template:User CSI (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs) on 18 May 2007. I hope that I haven't caused any headaches. - LA @ 11:39, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

Template:User CSI was WikiProject CSI's userbox, why does it have to go?. Should it maybe be renamed Template:User WP CSI? --Yamanbaiia(free hugs!) 22:53, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
The deletion debate is not even valid anymore. That "master" template was deleted more than a year ago and Template:User CSI becamed the default template. Please restore.--Yamanbaiia(free hugs!) 13:26, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
Cool, thanks.--Yamanbaiia(free hugs!) 21:52, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

File:David,larry.JPG My RFA
Thank you muchly for your support in my recent request for adminship, which was successfully closed on 76%, finishing at 73 supports, 23 opposes and 1 neutral. The supports were wonderful, and I will keep in mind the points made in the useful opposes and try to suppress the Larry David in me! Now I'm off to issue some cool down blocks, just to get my money's worth!

Kidding btw. All the best, Deacon of Pndapetzim (Talk) 11:22, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
