League of Copyeditors roll call
Greetings from the League of Copyeditors. Your name is listed on our members page, but we are unsure how many of the people listed there are still active contributors to the League's activities. If you are still interested in participating in the work of the League, please follow the instructions at the members page to add your name to the active members list. Once you have done that, you might want to familiarise yourself with the new requests system, which has replaced the old /proofreading subpage. As the old system is now deprecated, the main efforts of the League should be to clear the substantial backlog which still exists there. The League's services are in as high demand as ever, as evinced by the increasing backlog on our requests pages, both old and new. While FA and GA reviewers regularly praise the League's contributions to reviewed articles, we remain perennially understaffed. Fulfilling requests to polish the prose of Wikipedia's highest-profile articles is a way that editors can make a very noticeable difference to the appearance of the encyclopedia. On behalf of the League, if you do consider yourself to have left, I hope you will consider rejoining; if you consider yourself inactive, I hope you will consider returning to respond to just one request per week, or as many as you can manage. Merry Christmas and happy editing, The League of Copyeditors. |

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Srsa.gif)
Thanks for uploading Image:Srsa.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:12, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
Cooperation
We seem to have a number of common interests, and it might he satisfying to work together more closely. May I suggest you look at my user page, which should amplify on this?
Clandestine HUMINT and Covert Action
I rewrote some of the introduction, and did some restructuring of the flow in the rest of the article. More specific advice, here or on the talk page, would be appreciated. There's an outline of the set of general intelligence articles on which I've worked on my userpage, which might help show how this article relates to others.
- I'm glad you are working with this; it's always helpful to have someone else with whom I can try ideas. Certainly, there's nothing wrong with bolding the subject; I didn't realize the MOS called for it. For other purposes, I've had objections to bolding where I've used it, for example, to show the letters of a phrase that forms an acronym, bolding the first (or other) letters that go into the acronym.
- As soon as I finish at least one cup of coffee, I see something that would help flow, and also politically since there's always an undercurrent of claims of excessive US focus. In this case, it really makes sense to put the British work first, since they had operating clandestine HUMINT and covert operations before the US did. I'm not going to try to trace it back to the office of Sir Francis Walsingham, spymaster for Elizabeth I, but the SIS/MI6 certainly operated in the First World War, and SOE/PWE were formed before the US entered WWII. Disaster management
I just discovered, from looking at your userpage, that there is a project, and I'd like to learn more. Some of my background is on my userpage. I've also done such things as worked on the next-generation Army Forward Surgical Team facility. Howard C. Berkowitz (talk) 16:32, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Scanorama1.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Scanorama1.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sdrtirs (talk) 12:19, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
Stop
If this is added again, you will be blocked. The article's subject has stated this is incorrect. John Reaves 02:50, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
- No problem, I will stay away. But the reference says that he wrote the book. Cannot see how this is controversial. --rxnd (talk) 11:14, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
- That was a warning, there is no requirement that you be warned 3 times before being blocked. John Reaves 14:54, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

Notability of Ibrahim Khan
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Ibrahim Khan, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Ibrahim Khan seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Ibrahim Khan, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. To see the user who deleted the page, click here CSDWarnBot (talk) 09:10, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
Category:Firearm accident victims
Hi there, I don't have any special interest in the subject, but I just happened to come across Category:Firearm accident victims, which you created. I do a lot of work "straightening out" category structures, and I immediately noticed that both of the parent cats involve deaths, but the category name doesn't specify "deaths" -- so I wondered if it should be renamed, or if it needs different parent cats. Given the ambiguity in the category name, I rather suspect that it includes both deaths and injuries. However, I don't really have time to go through all of the 27 articles to ascertain how it's being used, so I'd appreciate any help you could give me so I can figure out how to proceed. Non-free rationale for File:Kanaan book.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Kanaan book.jpg. File:Em cycle.jpg listed for deletion
A file that you uploaded or altered, File:Em cycle.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Files for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. The article OSSI-Safenet Security Services has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Not a notable company.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Tentinator 05:53, 6 July 2013 (UTC)
