I cleaned up the main article by peeling of country examples as different articles, please look over. Thanks RaveenS 18:36, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for your support on the copy edit. Please look over this article Allegations of mass graves at Chemmani. I have a concern about the title. Although it began with an allegation of 400 bodies, it ended up with 15 so far and the perpetrator government stopped looking citing neutral investigators. But it left over 500 people missing and still unaccounted for during the Sri Lankan civil war in that region at that time. I have a concern that the title is not neutral that it makes it look like an allegation not about the mass grave itself because it did contain 15 bodies that showed all the sins of torture. Thanks RaveenS
Thank you for your comments. I shall look over them and then respond on the article talk page (and, presumably, edit the article accordingly). Blood Red Sandman (Talk) (Contribs) 14:37, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
- I have now responded to your comments; some of my responses will require a reply from you; which I look forward to receiveng. For your convinience: click here. Blood Red Sandman (Talk) (Contribs) 15:02, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
Hello again!
I would certainly be interested in participating in an effort to improve the above article. GA standard should definatly be attainable and, like you, I am hopeful this can go further, too. Blood Red Sandman (Talk) (Contribs) 19:00, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
- Regarding the above article, I would like to seperate the article out into apropriate headings, as a basis on which we can expand and improve the article. Based on my previous work, and the information already there, I would propose the following article structure, as a starting point: Background (will be empty at first, but as with all disasters, it almost certainly will have a lot in it by the end), Crash, Emergency response (might normally be considered a subheading of 'crash', but since they screwed it up so badly, I think there should be enough here to warrant a whole section to itself), Investigation (similarly to background) and Aftermath. Do you have any comments to make before I do it? By the way, please bear in mind I leave on a two-week holiday next Saturday, and so will be unavailible to work on anything during that period; I'll get really stuck in upon my return. Blood Red Sandman (Talk) (Contribs) 15:30, 25 March 2007 (UTC)
- Very well then, will do it sometime tonight (not now, got another project in the works. Blood Red Sandman (Talk) (Contribs) 18:23, 25 March 2007 (UTC)
The amount of things from me on your talk page is rediculous! ;-). Anyway, I dropped by to let you know that the above article you requested at the project to-do list has just been created by me. I will continue working on it for the rest of today (I leave on vacation tomorrow), so fell free to add to it/comment on it. Blood Red Sandman (Talk) (Contribs) 16:36, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
Re: Checking your pulse
You could say I've been real-life busy! How are you? -- backburner001 14:37, 28 April 2007 (UTC)
Further to your comments the other day, I did quite a bit of work on this. Hope you enjoy the latest incarnation. 05:03, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
Project European Union

Disasters
Greetings! My rationale was that if someone is looking for a category on disaster preparedness, they might logically look under Category:Disasters. I didn't see the explanatory text as I was using a tool that didn't show it. I'll change it back. Cheers, Her Pegship (tis herself) 17:19, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
They're not part of Orbitz, as far as I can tell. They're some travel agency in Mumbai, spamming Wikipedia. So I marked the article with "db-spam". --John Nagle 04:37, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

Looks good. He is already in the Battle Box for the Lal Masjid, so no need to worry about linking him to the Lal Masjid Siege. Mercenary2k 06:36, 28 July 2007 (UTC)

Kindly help in Copy editing Kaziranga National Park which is currently in FAC. I had put it up in WP:LOCE in April 2007, but still now no one have noticed. I need your urgent help in cpediting the article, as i am not so good in doing it. The article has no other issue but cpedit, i gurantee u that a fine refinement will help a lot. Hey there, I've just finished reviewing Ramstein airshow disaster and I'm afraid I've had to fail it for GA. I've made a few comments on the talk page which would help in future nominations. Let me know if you'd like to discuss any of the comments in more detail, but please don't be put off. I think a bit more work on less lists, more prose, more research on good secondary sources and you'd have no big problems getting a good article next time round. All the best, The Rambling Man 07:32, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
Replaceable fair use Image:Cardioid.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Cardioid.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Megapixie 07:15, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
Welcome to the League of Copyeditors
I'm very sorry I haven't had a chance to welcome you earlier, I have been incredibly busy lately. We are glad to have your help. Currently, we have really cut down the backlog of articles in need of copyedit. Therefore, a major goal at this moment is to identify new articles that are in need of work. When you run across them, be sure to tag them for copyediting.
If you have any questions at all, do not hesitate to drop me a line. Trusilver 06:19, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
Re: Congratulations
Many thanks. I would never have thought, when I created a little stub with the possibilty of doing some more work to bring it to a descent start class for DYK, that by this time it would be on the Main Page as Today's Featured Article! Hexayurt
Hi Rxnd - thought I'd ask you to take a look at Talk:Emergency_management#Hexayurt, in case you had time or know who might want to help. I think an article on the Hexayurt would be a good think, but I have a slight COI issue. Thanks. --Chriswaterguy talk 06:43, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
Category:Emergency organisations
Hi Rxnd -- I've been doing cleanup of Category:Organizations and have found several related categories, one of which you created (Category:Emergency organisations); so, I've proposed discussion to consolidate under the best possible name at CFD 12/4 -- please feel free to join the discussion. --Lquilter (talk) 00:44, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
- Hi Rxnd - Would you mind responding at the CFD, to help keep that discussion centralized? link -- Cheers! --Lquilter (talk) 13:33, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
Pre-Meiji Period: Use of Japanese era name in identifying disastrous events
Would you consider making a contribution to an exchange of views at either of the following:
As you know, Wikipedia:WikiProject Disaster management came up with entirely reasonable guidelines for naming articles about earthquakes, fires, typhoons, etc. However, the <<year>><<place> <<event>> format leaves no opportunity for conventional nengō which have been used in Japan since the eighth century (701-1945) -- as in "the Great Fire of Meireki" (1657) or for "the Hōei eruption of Mount Fuji" (1707).
In a purely intellectual sense, I do look forward to discovering how this exchange of views will develop; but I also have an ulterior motive. I hope to learn something about how better to argue in favor of a non-standard exception to conventional, consensus-driven, and ordinarily helpful wiki-standards such as this one. In my view, there does need to be some modest variation in the conventional paradigms for historical terms which have evolved in non-Western cultures -- no less in Wikipedia than elsewhere. I'm persuaded that, at least in the context of Japanese history before the reign of Emperor Meiji (1868-1912), some non-standard variations seem essential; but I'm not sure how best to present my reasoning to those who don't already agree with me. I know these first steps are inevitably awkward; but there you have it.
The newly-created 1703 Genroku earthquake article pushed just the right buttons for me. Obviously, these are questions that I'd been pondering for some time; and this became a convenient opportunity to move forward in a process of building a new kind of evolving consensus. --Ooperhoofd (talk) 17:46, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
