Lord Grey Academy

[edit]

Hi Russema, And a personal welcome to Wikipedia. I wanted to thank you for your edit to the Lord Grey School and hope you will continue to contribute to the Wikipedia community. Wikipedia can sometimes be a complex place with many rules and guidelines (some of which you will find in the welcome message at the top of this page. I hope this does not put you off. It is a bit of a technicality - when a school or institution changes its name, we do not normally create new articles with copies of the existing text. In order to keep the edit history that is stored with each article, we can simply rename them. We call this "moving" articles. I have therefore requested for your duplicate article to be deleted. Once this has been done, an admin or another editor can simply "move" it to the new name of the school. Once you have gained some more experience and made further edits, the ability to move articles will also be enabled on your user profile. If you have any questions about this or your first steps at Wikipedia, feel free to leave a message on my talk page. Welcome again. pseudonym Jake Brockman talk 09:11, 10 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you Jake. Deleting the page is fine if the current one can be moved. Could you move the page once its deleted ? I looked to do this but as you pointed out I didnt have the ability to move the page.

Sure. I suspect the admin will move the article as part of the deletion. If not, I'm happy to do that. I'll be offline soon for a few hours, but shall pick this up tonight (UK time). pseudonym Jake Brockman talk 09:44, 10 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
