Image:100px-Rache-des-Papstes-k3.jpg listed for deletion
An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:100px-Rache-des-Papstes-k3.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please look there to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. Fair use rationale for Image:Bliss XP.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Bliss XP.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. VegitaU 20:01, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Reutlingen University.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Reutlingen University.jpg. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.
Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 14:03, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
License tagging for Image:European School of Business Reutlingen Post Merger Logo.JPG
Thanks for uploading Image:European School of Business Reutlingen Post Merger Logo.JPG. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.
For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 10:12, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (Image:European School of Business Reutlingen.JPG)
Thanks for uploading Image:European School of Business Reutlingen.JPG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:28, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

File:Burdock sign.JPG missing description details
is missing a description and/or other details on its image description page. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors make better use of the image, and it will be more informative to readers.

Notification of automated file description generation
Your upload of File:Burdock South Dakota.jpg or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.
This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks! Message delivered by Theo's Little Bot (opt-out) 14:29, 3 March 2014 (UTC)
- Another one of your uploads, File:Capital City Queen.jpg, has also had some information automatically added. If you get a moment, please review the bot's contributions there as well. Thanks! Message delivered by Theo's Little Bot (opt-out) 14:52, 17 March 2014 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Prairiecabin.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Prairiecabin.jpg, which you've attributed to http://www.panoramio.com/photo/61583527. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 15:17, 18 March 2014 (UTC)

Sidebar
Hey. Not sure we need the Black Hills sidebar on the US 16A page. If nothing else, the page isn't very long and is already quite crowded. Adding that just makes it worse. TCN7JM 01:52, 4 April 2014 (UTC)
- OK, that's fair. I've been working on three templates that have to do with the Black Hills:
- Template:Black Hills, South Dakota: the major navbox for the region, covering the modern Black Hills
- Template:Black Hills and Badlands: a sidebar that calls out particularly important public & free destinations that define the Black Hills and Badlands, organized by type of attraction (e.g. caves) and not by government category (e.g. National Grassland)
- Template:Native Americans in the Black Hills: the navbox for the region, covering Native Americans in Black Hills, especially pre-white settlement. I don't think the content in this navbox should belong in the regular Black Hills navbox because there's a lot about modern activism about returning the Black Hills to native peoples and protesting uranium mining and the like; that's much different than "hey, check out the national parks"
- So perhaps we could add a list group to the horizontal navbox Template:Black Hills, South Dakota covering major trails and scenic roads, including Iron Mountain Road, Norbeck Byway, Centennial Trail, and others, and remove this section from vertical sidebar Template:Black Hills and Badlands. Runner1928 (talk) 02:17, 4 April 2014 (UTC)
- That sounds like a reasonable plan to me. I'd do it myself now, but I'm going to head off to bed, so you should do it as you see fit. It's a rare occurrence I run into anybody else on this site with ties to South Dakota, but admittedly a nice one. TCN7JM 04:00, 4 April 2014 (UTC)
