[edit]Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:
- Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
- With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

Excessive photos at Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Major German Horton Hunt Emory, Esq. (1882-1918)
[edit]Hello, we don't need photos of Woodrow Wilson on the page; the only photos should be ones that absolutely directly involve Emory. Not the Capitol, not other military officers, not his ancestors (or their works), but only things like the man himself, a monument that explicitly has his name on it, etc. The draft is just way, way crowded with tangential photos. If people want photos of Wilson, they can click on the words Woodrow Wilson. So far as ancestors, either they're famous enough to have their own article with their photo on it, or they aren't famous and so we don't need a photo of them either.
You've put some good work into the article, but it's taking some untangling, and addressing the photos will help out. MatthewVanitas (talk) 16:46, 16 January 2014 (UTC) Matthew, Thanks so much. That's very helpful. I'll make corrections. This is my first Wiki page, so I really appreciate your assistance. RufusL1948 16:50, 16 January 2014 (UTC)
Matthew, Thanks for your comment on getting too off subject. I'll work on it over the next couple of days. Best regards, RufusL1948 15:05, 17 January 2014 (UTC)

[edit]Please do not move a page to a title that is harder to follow, or move it unilaterally against naming conventions or consensus, as you did to German Horton Hunt Emory. This includes making page moves while a discussion remains under way. We have some guidelines to help with deciding what title is best for a subject. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. Thank you. Chris Troutman (talk) 17:23, 28 February 2014 (UTC)
Abuse of the AfC process
[edit]Our Articles for Creation process is designed to have our experienced editors review and approve or decline new article submissions. You had no business unilaterally moving that article out of AfC to the main namespace. Your behavior in this regard really puts a sour taste in my mouth.
While I am sure that you're emotionally-invested in German Horton Hunt Emory, editors will be less forgiving in the main namespace. You have large portions of unreferenced text that could be removed. You have portions that read like a glowing testimonial and that content may be cut, too.
I recommend you read our guidelines and policies before you make further edits. Chris Troutman (talk) 17:42, 28 February 2014 (UTC)
Chris, I'm sorry if I acted unilaterally. I made all the changes that editors had requested and I saw that another editor said they weren't going to clean it up , so I did as it had been dragging on for quite sometime, and there is a very significant backlog in the AFIs. I do have about 50 citations and 50 wiki links, so it seems very well documented to me. But your point is well made and I will take to heart. If there are parts of the article that are over reaching and should come down I will understand but I really did sincerely think everything was very well documented. The article New Apartment project at 1100 Key Highway, Baltimore has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- A proposed building is not notable. Wikipedia is not a crystal ball. Large portions of the article are directly copied from the sources.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Bgwhite (talk) 04:38, 2 April 2014 (UTC)
- I see you moved it, and it is now at Draft:New Apartment project at 1100 Key Highway, Baltimore. There are still concerns which need addressing. It needs independent sources, and to be rewritten instead of copying text from other websites. – Fayenatic London 14:25, 2 April 2014 (UTC)
Will do. Thanks so much for your time and assistance. 76.100.79.86 (talk) 14:27, 2 April 2014 (UTC) RufusL1948 14:29, 2 April 2014 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
