Hi Rick

Regarding your recent edit on the Battle of Grunwald, "Grunwaldu", is the genetive case of Grunwald in the Polish Language. They actually refer to it as "Bitwa pod Grunwaldem", to be even more grammatically correct. So for consistency in English, I will correct it by removing it (Grunwaldu), altogether. No problemo! BTW, never got a chance to correct it. It was jumped on immediately by some hungry sharks. They unfortunately, never bother to explain their RVs and other actions to people. New stubs

Technically, new stub types are only supposed to be made when there's a certain minimum number of stubs (~50?) that need them. I doubt there will be any big problem, but keep in mind that things like {{Finland-battle-stub}} aren't going to be very useful, since there's only a handful of articles that would ever use them; clumping them into somewhat bigger categories ({{Scandinavian-battle-stub}}, maybe?) might make them easier to find. Yeah, I've seen problems like that too. You've been doing some great work with the stubs; I just wanted to make sure we didn't wind up with a lot of almost-empty categories that we'd need to maintain ;-) Kirill Lokshin 02:44, 18 March 2006 (UTC)

Yes, I have counts of how these are "double-stubbed" at present; there's a few that were borderline, in the 40-60 range. (I can give you the blow-by-blow if you wish.) But these all look undersized to me. Can I suggest perhaps you keep these templates, to facilitate current sorting and possible future splitting, but merge the categories back into their various parents (by recategorising the templates). Grand. When they creep back up to closer to 60, then you can propose them, then 'snap back' the category on the template. BTW, I've already proposed, but not created, {{Russia-battle-stub}}, for which there were exactly 60 double-stubbed candidates, last time I checked... Alai 03:14, 18 March 2006 (UTC)

Why not do the Russians now, and the Polish ones when they hit 60? It's no longer especially that urgent to split the category, as it's comfortably less thn 800 stubs now -- or was, last time I checked, at least! Alai 17:18, 19 March 2006 (UTC)

The Military history WikiProject Newsletter Issue I - March 2006
Project news An independent military history peer review has been created for the benefit of the project. A number of articles have already been reviewed, receiving significantly more feedback within the project than they did on the generic peer review page. The project's Collaboration of the Fortnight got off to a great start with Ferdinand Foch and is now focusing on the military history of Spain. Two new task forces—dealing with warfare during classical antiquity and the Middle Ages—have been created. An effort to build a catalogue of high-quality maps for use in military history articles is now underway. The newly-formed translation department is looking for volunteers to help with translating featured articles from other-language Wikipedias.	From the Coordinators Welcome to the inaugural issue of the Military history WikiProject's newsletter! We hope that this new format will help members—especially those who may be unable to keep up with some of the rapid developments that tend to occur—find new groups and programs within the project that they may wish to participate in. Please consider this inital issue to be a prototype; as always, any comments and suggestions are quite welcome, and will help us improve the newsletter in the coming months. Hi, you reverted my edit concerning the capitalization of headings. Actually, WP:MS, says the following:

Capitalize the first letter only of the first word and of any proper nouns in a heading, and leave all of the other letters in lowercase.

User group for Military Historians

Greetings,

"Military history" is one of the most important subjects when speak of sum of all human knowledge. To support contributors interested in the area over various language Wikipedias, we intend to form a user group. It also provides a platform to share the best practices between military historians, and various military related projects on Wikipedias. An initial discussion was has been done between the coordinators and members of WikiProject Military History on English Wikipedia. Now this discussion has been taken to Meta-Wiki. Contributors intrested in the area of military history are requested to share their feedback and give suggestions at Talk:Discussion to incubate a user group for Wikipedia Military Historians.

April 2021 WikiProject Military History Reviewing Drive

Hey y'all, the April 2021 WikiProject Military History Reviewing Drive begins at 00:01 UTC on April 1, 2021 and runs through 23:59 UTC on April 31, 2021. Points can be earned through reviewing articles on the AutoCheck report, reviewing articles listed at WP:MILHIST/ASSESS, reviewing MILHIST-tagged articles at WP:GAN or WP:FAC, and reviewing articles submitted at WP:MILHIST/ACR. Service awards and barnstars are given for set points thresholds, and the top three finishers will receive further awards. To participate, sign up at Wikipedia:WikiProject_Military_History/April 2021 Reviewing Drive#Participants and create a worklist at Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history/April 2021 Reviewing Drive/Worklists (examples are given).
