2019 US Banknote Contest

US Banknote Contest
November-December 2019

There are an estimated 30,000 different varieties of United States banknotes, yet only a fraction of these are represented on Wikimedia Commons in the form of 2D scans. Additionally, Colonial America, the Confederate States, the Republic of Texas, multiple states and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons.

In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate.

If you do not want to receive invitations to future US Banknote Contests, follow the instructions here

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited British Government frontbench, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Douglas Ross (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 08:00, 28 December 2019 (UTC)

Shadow Lord President of the Council

Hi,

I noticed you have a lot of experience editing these sorts of articles so I thought I should ask for some advise.

On Shadow Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, I have listed the precursor position as Shadow Lord President of the Council, as this was the position held by Jon Trickett. Both Reeves and Trickett hold/held the Cabinet Office ministers led by the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster. However, the Lord President of the Council and Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster are very separate roles. During Trickett's tenure as Shadow Lord President of the Council, he never questioned the Lord President of the Council in Parliamentary questions, only the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster.

I wondered if you could be of any assistance with this. Thanks - PoliceSheep99 (talk) 03:13, 22 May 2020 (UTC)

I would think two shadow roles are not linked. For the entirety of Corbyn's leadership, the Lord President was the Leader of the House, yet Jon Trickett was never Shadow Leader of the House. Therefore, it seems most likely he held the role as an honorific. It is also likely that Reeves is not the first person to have held the title. Both roles just sort of come and go as Leaders of the Opposition name them and then don't, so it is quite probable that other oppositions named one when there was a Minister of the Duchy of Lancaster in Cabinet who was not one of the house leaders. -Rrius (talk) 03:37, 26 May 2020 (UTC)
