Six-Legged Soldiers and books

A couple of great articles you put together there. They fill some holes, anyway. If you're interested there are a couple more books that need articles (you did so well with the other) Germs: Biological Weapons and America's Secret War, by Judith Miller and a couple of her colleagues, and The United States and Biological Warfare: Secrets from the Early Cold War and Korea, by a couple of historians without articles. If you're not interested, no big deal. --IvoShandor (talk) 15:23, 7 January 2009 (UTC)

Ivo, I finally got around to writing an article on Germs: Biological Weapons and America's Secret War. If you'd like to nom a hook on its behalf at DYK?, go for it, or no problem I will. As I see it, you should get some of the credit as I wasn't even aware of the book before you suggested it to me. Rosiestep (talk) 22:29, 23 February 2009 (UTC)
Beautiful. You can go ahead and nominate a hook, if you need help coming up with one I am sure I can help. I've been trying to keep my head low.--IvoShandor (talk) 14:02, 24 February 2009 (UTC)

Congratulations...

... on creating so many new articles for Wikipedia. Which do you think is your best? Johnfos (talk) 21:59, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the cuppa :) Have enjoyed looking through Arctic shrinkage and Caribou Inuit. Both very nice articles. Will you be taking them to WP:GAN?
Probably my best academic type article is Renewable energy commercialization. But Anti-nuclear movement in Australia is more about people and probably more interesting to read. Johnfos (talk) 03:25, 31 January 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for those kind words... One good thing about doing some GAs is that (as I understand it) they are automatically included on the CDs that come out periodically for schools. It's nice to think of helping the kids with their education. And GAs don't need to be that long; in fact, there are many short ones, such as Revopower. Johnfos (talk) 04:08, 2 February 2009 (UTC)

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Jess H. Dickinson, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.mssc.state.ms.us/appellate_courts/sc/bios/justicedickinson.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 00:56, 7 February 2009 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Jess H. Dickinson

A tag has been placed on Jess H. Dickinson requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. -- Darth Mike  (join the dark side) 01:00, 7 February 2009 (UTC)

Admindom?

Hey Rosiestep. You have a really impressive record of Awesome here - I was surprised you're not an admin. If you're still interested in becoming one, I'd be happy to nominate or co-nominate you. FlyingToaster 20:20, 8 February 2009 (UTC)

FlyingToaster, thanks! Yes, I'd like to become an Admin, so your nom or co-nom would be appreciated. --Rosiestep (talk) 19:20, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
Awesome! When would be a good time for you? I'm actually about to RfA myself in a week or so, so if you're willing to wait I can start putting my statement and such together and be ready to go on yours after my own RfA. Or, if you're feeling ready now, we could do yours first. :) FlyingToaster 19:49, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
Your RfA first, followed by mine, let's make that the plan. I'll participate in yours for sure, but let me know if there's something in particular I can do to assist. Rosiestep (talk) 19:59, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
Sounds good. We'll talk more later, but I suppose what I'd like is what kinds of work you'd want to do as an admin, and some of your best contributions here. Obviously the sheer amount of edits and articles created is a big plus, but any specific situations or conflicts that you feel you handled well or any other talents you have would be useful. I'll start a sandbox page with stuff I'll include in my recommendation - maybe you could start one with your answers to the three questions. :) Also, if I fail my RfA and you don't want me to nom you at that point, I understand and can find someone else to nom you instead. FlyingToaster 20:16, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
No prob, feel free to poke me whenever you want, I'll be around. FlyingToaster 23:44, 3 March 2009 (UTC)

Typo redirect Sakkiak island

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Sakkiak island, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Sakkiak island is a redirect page resulting from an implausible typo (CSD R3).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Sakkiak island, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Eric, just a follow-up... Over the weekend, I reviewed every article in Kozani Prefecture (whoa! there were a lot!), corrected all of the E/N errors, and also did a bit of copyediting, expanding, and clean-up. --Rosiestep (talk) 17:54, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

Hey Rosiestep. Thanks so much for you vote of support on my RfA. Unfortunately, as I'm sure you noticed, I think that it is very unlikely to pass. So, I'm wondering how you feel about your own RfA. Parishes for Speedy deletion

Hello Rosiestep. The minimun unity in Spain is the municipality, (then there are villages and then parishes!!!) and many of this parishes has less that 50 people living and with 100 meters distance one for another... There are municipalities with more than 100 parishes, and there are more than 10.000... so I believe that is not a dictionary (and almost all the pages I have proposed for deletion are) and nor a parish guide. They have absolutely no relevance, and if they have, it has been not shown properly in the parishes I proposed for deletion.--Auslli (talk) 21:02, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
