A tag has been placed on Camino de Santiago photographic project, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of Camino de Santiago photographic project and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Andante1980 (talk) 09:47, 1 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just a reminder, I don't have any administrative rights here on WP so I have not and could not delete your article. It was marked as spam and admin User:Tone deleted your article. And it's been 6 months since that happened. I will not respond any more. Andante1980 (talk) 11:42, 4 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Delmi Alvarez has been reverted.

Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove unwanted links and spam from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. The external links I reverted were matching the following regex rule(s): \bwordpress\.com (links: http://www.savethearctic.wordpress.com, http://www.nomadphotographer.wordpress.com, http://www.magnumphotos.wordpress.com). If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. an image file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy and therefore probably should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file.

If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Himbas, struggle for survive

[edit]

Idealized by tourists, members of Namibia’s Himba tribe struggle to maintain control of their lives and their land. This beautiful African tribe is now threatened by ongoing projects from the government of Namibia and also by invasion of Western tourists who put in danger their identity. In 1980 the lifestyle of the Himba seemed about to finish when a drought wiped out 90% of them. In the village of Opuwo, living was even more difficult. Located close to the border with Angola, many Himba have been victims of kidnappings during the civil war in Angola.

The Himba are monotheistic, they belive in one God called Mukuru. Each family has its ancestral fire, which is kept alive by a fire-Keeper. The fire-Keeper every seven or eight days communicates with the ancestors on behalf of the family.

Fires in Galicia

[edit]

Delmi, as I go through this section, it seems to me it could be a standalone article on the fires in Galicia, which clearly received much coverage and don't have an article yet. If you'd like, I can copy the information into a draft that you could work on. This might be true for several other sections, also. Wikipedia is very interested in articles that aren't centered on English-speaking countries, and it seems like many of these sections could, if turned into their own articles, be very useful.

Would you be interested in that? It seems like much of what you're writing about deserves to be in an article but just aren't appropriate to be in the article about you. We could link from the Delmi article to those articles. I think you could write multiple articles, starting from what's currently in yours. --valereee (talk) 12:53, 1 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Rokomoko2019 it occurred to me that you might not have seen this, since I don't usually ping people on their own talk pages. --valereee (talk) 12:04, 13 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Valereee, I just saw your text now. i'm afraid of write something in Wikipedia after someone tag a page where is my name and texts about me or my work. Thanks. Rokomoko2019

This article wouldn't be about you and your work. It would be about the fires in Galicia, and would simply be written by you -- you know a lot about the subject of the fires, and you're interested in telling the world abou them -- and would be illustrated by your work. I'm going to move the information into a draft so I can show you what I mean, and maybe we can work on it together. I believe you could be a good contributor to Wikipedia -- you know a lot about the subjects you've worked on, none of them are covered well in Wikipedia, and you have wonderful photos you can contribute. Literally the ONLY article you SHOULDN'T be working on is the one about you. The entire rest of the world is open to you. I'll ping you once I've set up the draft. --valereee (talk) 12:15, 17 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Rokomoko2019 here's the draft, if you're at all interested. If not, no worries, I just thought there should be an article about this: Draft:Fires in Galicia More photos would be great, if you'd be willing to provide! --valereee (talk) 13:13, 17 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@valereee I never wrote about me in that page, the only thing wrong was open it and put my name as the user. That page had been written by people that I don't know or have a relationship. Just it was a copy and paste of their contributions. I told them they should create a new page. It was a big mistake create the page with my name. If the page had another username would not have problems, and this has raised suspicions by a Wikipedia collaborator who has finally tagged and forgotten. That contributor has made a value judgment of me that has damaged my reputation. I get emails from students and people asking what happened. I do not want to have more relation with Wikipedia.

Best regards

blanking sections

[edit]

Hey, Rokomoko! I know it must be frustrating, but unfortunately when you started the article, you gave WP full ownership. If no one else had ever worked on the article, you might be able to ask that the page be taken down, but other editors have worked on it; blanking the page removes not only your work but theirs. (That's why Wikipedia has to acquire control.) Blanking the page is not the answer. You can if you like nominate the article for deletion, but it's possible other editors will decide you are too notable to not have an article. If you want to try that route, the instructions are at WP:AFDHOWTO. But don't blank the page; that's considered vandalism.

As for why it's taking so long. We're all volunteers here. This is a bit of an overwhelming task for someone like me. I don't know the subject, I don't read the language. It's a lot of work for me to do it slowly and carefully. However, I was doing it slowly and carefully out of respect and empathy for you; if you'd rather just have the job completed, it's quite easy for me to instead just chop and burn. --valereee (talk) 11:28, 2 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Valereee

The tag of the page by MrOllie, who by the way, doesn't want receive emails for anyone, put a tag in the page, with a clear judgement to my profile and my name. I already told that this tag as autobiography is destroying my name and reputation. Contributors in Wikipedia hide their names and this is another kind of supremacy and impunity. All this had been too far. Thank you for your contribution, I don't know who are you, but thank you. Please don't waste your time with this subject. Wikipedia should remove the tag or just delete the page where is my name. You said that I'm doing vandalism, but this page was created by me, and I should manage it. Also, I had been advice to don't make any changes or modifications in the page, it means that I can't edit anything. Yes, Wikipedia is frustrating, sure, and some contributors (of course not all) also help to see Wikipedia as a enemy. Please delete the page or removed the tag, my reputation and name are in dispute.

Best regards,

tag removal and commons category

[edit]

Rokomoko, I've done a major revision and deleted the tag. It may be a few days before we know for sure that the other editor agrees with its removal. There is a new category at Photographs by Delmi Álvarez. --valereee (talk) 21:12, 2 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Valereee,
Thank you for your contribution, but the chop and burn of the page "Delmi Alvarez" has left with errors that do not correspond to the reality of the profile, mixing situations or using words like "hundred cities"(?) that previously were not mentioned.
I suggest that you carefully review the previous text of the page and compare it with the current one.
Because I'm not anymore the editor of the page I can't repair the mistakes, but I offer my help to you to correct it.
Right now, different parts of the text do not make sense nowadays.
If you don't wish follow with the editing of the page, let me know, because in this case I'll ask to delete it.
Best,
Rokomoko
Yep, that's what happens when you don't go slowly and carefully and when you have plenty of time and enthusiasm for a task! Errors get created. We always do our best to fix them.
You can ask to delete it. I provided instructions before. However, I think you are likely to be found to be notable. If that is true, no admin will agree to delete. No article subject can get their Wikipedia article deleted if they're found to be notable.
But I'm happy to continue working on it until it is correct, now that we've got the tags off it that were so upsetting to you. Tell us what's wrong and we'll fix it. Start at the beginning, we'll go paragraph by paragraph. It is best to do this on the article's talk page Talk:Delmi Alvarez, as that way other editors will see the request if I'm not available. --valereee (talk) 10:29, 3 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
