Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in The Stand, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Please see the principle of minimal change regarding quotes.Peaceray (talk) 20:46, 23 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
First, you're right about quotes. I didn't even pay attention to the fact that the first occurrence of CBW was in a quote. BUT: I still think it needs to be defined at its first occurrence. Couldn't the definition be put in square brackets there? talk22:41, 23 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi there! I don't know if Peaceray is following your talk page, but I'm happy to try to help. You boldly made an edit in good faith, and another editor reverted it, which happens frequently. The next step of the Wikipedia:BOLD, revert, discuss cycle would be for you to start a conversation at the article talk page, and discuss it with other interested editors to determine consensus. Happy editing! GoingBatty (talk) 01:44, 24 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I just thought of one other solution which I just implemented. I used Template:Abbr, so when you hover over CBW, you see "Chemical Biological Warfare", like this: CBW. Hope this resolves your issue while not disturbing the quote. Happy editing! GoingBatty (talk) 01:59, 24 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
GoingBatty, you are correct that I do not normally follow user talk pages, since I both welcome & warn users quite a bit.
Rodney1h, I think that GoingBatty has the right idea with the {{abbr}} template.
