Hello Rodbauer. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Rockset, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Rodbauer. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Rodbauer|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. MarioGom (talk) 14:51, 11 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Rockset moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Rockset, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Thanks for uploading File:Rockset Inc logo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:34, 15 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@GreenmanI am not employed by Rockset, nor am I compensated by them in any way for work on Wikipedia. @Rodbauer Rodbauer (talk) 17:56, 20 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Rod, no offense, but I don't find this believable. You just stated on the draft's talk page you "were" employed by them but not now. I need you to please be transparent not only about Rockset but other contributions you have made. Undisclosed paid editing is a blockable offense, past or present. S0091 (talk) 18:24, 20 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I was laid off from from Rockset on July 15. I am currently unemployed. Why would you doubt that? Rodbauer (talk) 23:41, 20 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I believe Rockset is a significant company with a very bright future. It was founded by the engineers who created the database technologies used in many of today's major data platforms--Oracle, Yahoo, Google, Facebook. Rockset is bringing those database technologies to anyone who wishes to take advantage of them for their own uses. Rockset deserves to be recognized for what it is doing. I am not being paid for doing this, but I believe the entry on Rockset should be published and I wanted to finish it. Rodbauer (talk) 00:42, 21 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I disclosed my employment by Rockset on my Wikipedia profile when I was employed by them. I removed it when I was no longer an employee nor being compensated. Rodbauer (talk) 00:45, 21 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I do see that in the history. Hmmm....this is a bit tricky. Since you were still employed by Rockset when you created the draft, you were technically paid to create it. What I think makes sense is to place a paid disclosure on the draft's talk page ({{connected contributor (paid)}}). You already made a statement there that you were employed but are no longer so I think that covers all the bases. Once you do that, I will make a comment on both the draft and the talk page regarding this conversation so other reviewers/editors are aware. S0091 (talk) 16:59, 21 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I added the paid disclosure to the Rockset draft talk page. Rodbauer (talk) 21:44, 21 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Your submission at Articles for creation: Rockset (September 5)

[edit]
Your recent article submission has been rejected. If you have further questions, you can ask at the Articles for creation help desk or use Wikipedia's real-time chat help. The reason left by MaxnaCarta was: This topic is not sufficiently notable for inclusion in Wikipedia. The comment the reviewer left was: Article creator has had multiple opportunities to address issues raised, rather the article continues to be submitted without appropriate changes.

Your draft article, Draft:Rockset

[edit]

Hello, Rodbauer. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Rockset".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. When you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Liz Read! Talk! 06:42, 5 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free rationale for File:Wayve Landscape logo Navy.svg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Wayve Landscape logo Navy.svg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:22, 11 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Alex Kendall Wayve CEO Co-founder.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Alex Kendall Wayve CEO Co-founder.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Ирука13 04:52, 11 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This photo will not be used and can be deleted. Rodbauer (talk) 21:22, 11 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Wayve Autonomous Fleet.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a copyright violation of https://wayve.ai/technology/av2-0/ and has no credible claim of fair use or permission. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. — Ирука13 05:55, 12 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
