Help me!

[edit]

The new page I created says "This page is a new unreviewed article. This template should be removed once the page has been reviewed by someone other than its creator; if necessary the page should be appropriately tagged for cleanup. (February 2016)" What are the next things I need to do so that the page is accepted and finalized (although I know of course it can always be edited). Robertversteeg (talk) 21:35, 12 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Robert, your draft was not at all ready to be an article; someone went so far as to tag it for deletion. I am nice, so I removed the deletion tag and moved it back into your userspace. This needs a LOT of work before it's ready. Please consult someone more experienced before proceeding, okay? DS (talk) 22:39, 12 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
To start with, you'll need to show some references to sources that aren't by Mr Silvin, or by any organization which stands to profit monetarily from him (thus, Amazon). DS (talk) 14:16, 14 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. I am working on it. I am working from two angles: I am extending the list of references, but I am also linking words in the text to external links as well as Wikipedia articles. Is that ok and helpful to do? thanks for your help

Links to external sources is what defines notability, yes. DS (talk) 14:41, 16 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

David S. Samrick moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, David S. Samrick, does not have any sources and citations as written. It needs citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. File permission problem with File:David S. Samrick, 2014.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:David S. Samrick, 2014.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 18:13, 6 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Fernando Wong requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Robertversteeg. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Richard René Silvin, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. GPL93 (talk) 17:48, 30 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:David S. Samrick, a page you created, has not been edited in 5 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 01:25, 31 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:David S. Samrick

[edit]

Hello, Robertversteeg. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "David S. Samrick".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! UnitedStatesian (talk) 18:53, 22 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Noise In Your head has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Is it notable? Why no refs beyond Discogs - which is not a signifier of notability.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Jan Smit (singer), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Jan Keizer. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:02, 26 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Angela Groothuizen, you may be blocked from editing. Is this some kind of weird retaliation? Drmies (talk) 13:36, 8 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Drmies (talk) I am a native Dutch speaker and was adding to the English page by adding the Dutch Wikipedia page information into the English one. I don't see how that is vandalism. It already exists in Dutch Wikipedia, and her page in English is a stub.

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add promotional or advertising material to Wikipedia, as you did at Fernando Wong, you may be blocked from editing. You need to stay out of this article. You have a COI with the subject, and the article is far from neutral. Drmies (talk) 13:37, 8 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • There is no CIO. I created this page and have been updating it as I find new information about the subject on-line. Again, I don't see this as disruptive editing. I also don't understand your attacking tone in your messages. There is no need for that. You can get a message across by being courteous too.
