A few questions
Hi Rob, I just have a few questions for you... 1. I was wondering how to properly report status to show that I am online. 2. I would really like to design my talk page to have the outline and backgound colors, kind of like CactusWriter, but to look like the Pokemon, Parasect, red with yellow/orange spots... I just need to know how to do this. 3. I'd also like to start a Wikiproject:Bog bodies page. Thanks, --Parasect (Discuss) 14:11, 29 October 2010 (UTC)
- Never mind about the status. It magically began working, Thanks anyway, --Parasect (Discuss) 14:16, 29 October 2010 (UTC)
- Hi Parasect. Give me a few to answer the other questions - just got up (late work night last night). I'll be in the office in front of my computer in an hour and will be back in Wikipedia then. Best, Rob ROBERTMFROMLI TALK/CNTRB 17:29, 29 October 2010 (UTC)
- Hi again! When I borrowed my theme from someone else (who borrowed it from someone else), I simply copied and pasted the entire thing into a new document in my userspace, then edited in my information.
- Then, to change the colors you want to look for the following tags:
- border: 1px solid #00008B;
- Everywhere this one is located determines the border color and size for the box it corresponds to
- 1px is one pixel border... values can be from 0 to very large
- solid determines what the border line looks like - there are other options, but most look weird on various versions of Internet Explorer
- The color code (in this example #00008B) determines the color of the border itself
- background-color:#fffff3;
- This one is pretty self explanatory: wherever it's located, it defines the background color of the box it is for.
- border: 1px solid #00008B;
- The relevant parts for color are the #XXXXXX
- The colors are represented in hexadecimal numbering as RED GREEN BLUE like this: #RRGGBB - so, for bright red, the color code would be #FF0000 (or full red, no green, no blue). There are various color tools online that will help you figure out what code corresponds to what color, or, if you like, if you email me images or point them out to me someplace on the web, I can figure out the color codes for you.
- And don't forget to make sure you do not delete or move the ";" and that you don't change the spelling or capitalization of the style tags (ie: "border" or "background-color" or "solid", etc). You can write the hex numbers either capitalized or not - that doesn't matter: so, "#FFFFFF" is interpreted exactly the same as "#ffffff".
- Let me know if that gets you started on the right path, and how I can help you further on this. Next, we can move on to the Wikiproject. Best, Rob ROBERTMFROMLI TALK/CNTRB 19:57, 29 October 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you so much, --Parasect (Discuss) 23:18, 30 October 2010 (UTC)
- Hi again Rob, I just need to know the color codes for Red, Orange, and Black, because I am not at all good with finding out the color codes and I just need the code on how to do the page outline and background. Thanks, --Parasect (Discuss) 17:56, 1 November 2010 (UTC)

Hi Parasect!
- Red is #FF0000
- Black is #000000
- Orange is:
- Burnt Orange: #FF5C02
- Brighter Orange: #FF7709
Let me know if those colors work for you, and if not, towards which shade they need to go to and I'll figure out the hex codes for them. Best, Rob ROBERTMFROMLI TALK/CNTRB 21:01, 1 November 2010 (UTC)

Hi Rob, I would really like to team up with you for the article expansion and creation. Thank you, --Parasect (Discuss) 14:11, 31 October 2010 (UTC)
- I also am kind of wondering if you could tell me if I could use a picture for my background, that tiles over the page. Thanks, --Parasect (Discuss) 19:35, 2 November 2010 (UTC)

This one's difficult. If I didn't know any better, I would think he's a troll LOOKING for trouble. Stop all contact with him and watch him for awile, to see if this continues, who he does it to, the pages he edits... In other words abandon ship. (As of now anyway) And ask a Admin to watch him alittle. :) Thanks--intelatitalk 15:22, 5 November 2010 (UTC)
Hmm... Seems like he got his caps lock fixed. Never mind. But the disscusstion is not a big deal, so I would get out before you get blocked. :)--intelatitalk 16:27, 5 November 2010 (UTC)
- I am now finished. Some corrections for his misperceptions, and a final note on improper conduct. There's a warning already removed by him, plus the other notes. On to WP:DENY and sit back to see if s/he decides to be constructive or chooses to ignore the various warnings. Either way, I have better things to do. :-) ROBERTMFROMLI TALK/CNTRB 19:40, 5 November 2010 (UTC)

Iron Maiden: Verifiability VS POV
I have removed your suggestion below my Strong Support as I am well aware that what I'm saying is not based WP:POV. In other words, the 70 million figures are as verifiable as the 100 million figures, therefore, you should not have posted anything like this, that is not the way to promote the 100 million in sales. Reagrds. --Harout72 (talk) 19:54, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
- I apologize if you thought it directed at you. My point still stands and is directed at those who it applies to. In the future, please don't remove my talk page comments (except from your own talk page of course). I'd gladly have clarified it or
redactedit (as you've noticed me do in the past) - but I make it a point of never removing my comments and never doing more than grammar/minor wording fixes as I fully believe I should be liable for what I say or don't say with as much transparency as possible. When I'm wrong, I'm wrong. When my intent is misunderstood, it's probably my fault for poor wording (as in this case)... but I make every effort to not hide my mistakes. Whatever view anyone on Wikipedia has of me, I want to be based on the best of my contributions, the worst of my contributions, and everything inbetween. I do sincerely appreciate your intent though - and apologize the statement wasn't worded better to indicate it was a general statement to go along with yours as opposed to one directed AT you. This is why I dont do much major content contribution, btw... it takes 10 edits/revisions before I actually manage to say what I mean. ;-) Best, Rob ROBERTMFROMLI TALK/CNTRB 20:04, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
I accept your apology, and I appreciate also that you are an understanding person. I removed that because it really did seem like you were surreptitiously trying to weaken my strong support, and I'm not sure if you have noticed it or not, but such a thing is not done in the process of voting. You could have simply commented, and it seems like you too acknowledged that, so I won't continue this any further.--Harout72 (talk) 20:21, 6 November 2010 (UTC)

I have restored InfoPrint Solutions Company and moved it to User:RobertMfromLI/InfoPrint Solutions Company. Note the better version before 27 July in the page history. PrimeHunter (talk) 03:08, 8 November 2010 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:Ricoh InfoPrint Solutions Logo.png
Thanks for uploading File:Ricoh InfoPrint Solutions Logo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. ROBERTMFROMLI TALK/CNTRB 15:54, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
- Huh? --intelatitalk 15:56, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
- (ec)Ooops! Now it looks like I am talking to myself on my own talk page. I'm not that crazy folks... I forgot to uncheck notify when I submitted an image I uploaded for deletion (one that's no longer (at least temporarily) in use - and won't be in use till I fix a userfied article and get it moved to mainspace (at which point I can re-upload the image)). ROBERTMFROMLI TALK/CNTRB 16:00, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
- Hiya Intelati! I am working on this[1], but it was recommended to me by EotR that I shouldn't use the image if it's not PD until the article goes into mainspace (I uploaded the image a bit too soon) - so I removed the image from the article and requested it's immediate deletion until such time as I manage to salvage the article and get it moved into mainspace (at which time I can re-upload it). Best, Rob ROBERTMFROMLI TALK/CNTRB 16:00, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
So... funny side note... with all the Speedies I have filed, the only one to ever get declined is one I filed on an image I uploaded. LoL! ROBERTMFROMLI TALK/CNTRB 05:46, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
Hi :)
Hi Robert :) Thanks again for taking the time to try and ease the current stress levels. It is greatly appreciated! I do not recall receiving another email from you, perhaps you should resend :). Anyway, thanks for the advice let me know if you need me in any other discussion! :D--CallMeNathan • Talk2Me 05:07, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
- Hi Nathan, just sent it a few minutes ago... I sent it direct though, as a reply to an earlier conversation, instead of sending it through the Wikipedia email tool. I'll try resending it via the tool in a sec. Best, Rob ROBERTMFROMLI TALK/CNTRB 05:12, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
- Hey Rob, scratch that, I now see it :). I will definitely look into it tomorrow, for now I am off to bed. Good night and I will comment tomorrow!--CallMeNathan • Talk2Me 05:38, 10 November 2010 (UTC)

Why do you keep inserting fact tags?
Thanks, Robert. Mea culpa (well, not quite). Nakkas page on Wikipedia said that he was "one of the illustrators", not the only one. I was just wondering whether that particular illustration was his or not, or was it made by another famous illustrator who worked on the same book. Not sure if the current citation answers that. But let's keep it. Wiqi - talk 22:37, 11 November 2010 (UTC)
- I wonder if anyone can get a hold of that book... I've got a lot of work to do tonight and tomorrow morning, but tomorrow evening, I'll see if I can find it on Google Books or someplace else and see what the page says. If I don't get back to you by Sunday, drop me a message and remind me please. Thanks, Robert ROBERTMFROMLI TALK/CNTRB 23:05, 11 November 2010 (UTC)
Hi Robert. How are you? I remembered you are a reviewer, so can you review and leave your comments, support or oppose here please? Thank you :)--CallMeNathan • Talk2Me 02:20, 17 November 2010 (UTC)
Doctor Who
Any and all Doctor Who is absolutely worth watching :) Specifically, the Christmas Day 1965 episode in which William Hartnell broke the fourth wall and wished all the viewers a very merry Christmas springs to mind as contradicting the IP's claim...! ╟─TreasuryTag►person of reasonable firmness─╢ 09:17, 14 November 2010 (UTC)
- Much thanks. I've just finished catching up on a few other series, and was considering that next. Still have to finish catching up on Red Dwarf. Then I think I'll start at the beginning of Doctor Who and work my way to the last one. Thanks again, Rob ROBERTMFROMLI TALK/CNTRB 09:20, 14 November 2010 (UTC)
- I suggest starting with the RTD/Moffat Doctors and then backtracking, since so many of the earliest stories didn't survive, thanks to completely brain-dead BBC retention policies. With the new series, you can just go straight through them in order. If you hurry, you can be done in time to watch the Christmas Special on BBC America.--SarekOfVulcan (talk) 21:13, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
- Much thanks to you both! Another week or so for Red Dwarf, then moving on to the Doctor! ROBERTMFROMLI | TK/CN 21:33, 18 November 2010 (UTC)

Adoption Request
Hi Robert,
I am interested in being adopted by you, if you can spare the attention; I noticed you're a computer technician and a trekkie/trekker, so I think our interests are at least semi-aligned. I'm a computer science major, with one semester left in my bachelor's program. Let me know if you're interested, or even if you're not- I'm not really sure what the adopt-a-member thing is all about.
Payco (talk) 07:15, 15 November 2010 (UTC)
- Hi Payco! Sure! Though, I have to be honest, I am a little more that just a Trek fan... I (and my friends) make new Star Trek episodes. ;-)
- I've updated your userpage (replaced the adoptme box with the adopted box). Best, Robert ROBERTMFROMLI | TK/CN 21:33, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
Your e-mail
Hi, if you would like to discuss the details of that issue, the person who you should principally talk to is the admin who took the action. It's much easier for them to change the situation if you convince them than for me. Sandstein 20:35, 18 November 2010 (UTC)

- My comments were based on his uploading three images, all of which seem to have been taken from the internet (I found the sources for two of them), and writing on the image pages that he took them. Then, when confronted with a deletion nomination, he said that a friend took the photos. I still think that he was lying about this. Assume good faith doesn't mean burying your head in the sand. This is what people who upload photos snagged from the internet say all the time. Anyways, he is unblocked now after promising never to do this again, which seems like a reasonable outcome. Hopefully he has learned that Wikipedia is serious about copyright violations and won't make the same mistake again. Calliopejen1 (talk) 00:12, 19 November 2010 (UTC)
- I'm not saying that he was lying - or not lying. I was saying that since you *thought* he was lying, but cannot *prove* that he is lying, it's not the particular word I would have chosen. Sorry I wasn't clear... while I doubt the situation with Nathan would create a larger situation, I've seen far less do so, all for wording that could have been... different. ;-) Best, Rob ROBERTMFROMLI | TK/CN 00:24, 19 November 2010 (UTC)

Hey :), please help reach consensus and vote here.--CallMeNathan • Talk2Me 05:36, 25 November 2010 (UTC)
