IP block exempt

[edit]

I have granted your account an exemption from IP blocking. This will allow you to edit through full blocks affecting your IP address when you are logged in.

Please read the page Wikipedia:IP block exemption carefully, especially the section on IP block exemption conditions.

Note in particular that you are not permitted to use this userright to edit Wikipedia via anonymous proxies, or disruptively. If you do, or there is a concern of abuse, then the right may be removed by any administrator.

Appropriate usage and compliance with the policy may be checked (through the use of CheckUser) periodically, due to the nature of block exemption, and block exemption will be removed when no longer needed (for example, when the block it is related to expires).

I hope this will enhance your editing, and allow you to edit successfully and without disruption. Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 22:53, 13 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Jahrom, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Palm (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Islamic Azad University, Jahrom Branch requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://linknovate.com/affiliation/islamic-azad-university-at-shiraz-81533/all/?query=cmms. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. @Sphilbrick: I removed the parts with problem. although it was a general content about the university. is there any other problem? the article has good refrences. Rizorius (talk) 11:00, 16 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict) Hey Rizorius, I just wanted to let you know that I contested the speedy deletion because the website that has the same content credits Wikipedia as its source. --MrClog (talk) 11:01, 16 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Rizorius, Perhaps that info was fine - I haven't figured out how another site had it so quickly, which led to a trigger at CopyPatrol. S Philbrick(Talk) 11:14, 16 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Rizorius, I have reviewed you article, Islamic Azad University, Jahrom Branch. As you can see, I've tagged it as needing more sources and as relying too much on associated sources. Some of the content can currently not be verified (especially because some links in the article are dead) or can not be veriefed through third-party sources (ANA seems to be not independent of the university). If you have any questions, feel free to ask me here or on my talk page. :) Happy editing! --MrClog (talk) 11:14, 16 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@MrClog: OK, I try and search for more. Thank you. but one more thing, ANA (Azad News Agency) is the official news agency of the Islamic Azad University. Is it really dependent? Rizorius (talk) 11:20, 16 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Rizorius, I assume it is. If the Islamic Azad University owns the agency or somehow exercises control over the agency, it is considered to be not independent. However, if you find out that it is truly independent, feel free to inform me. --MrClog (talk) 11:24, 16 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Autopatrolled granted

[edit]

Hi Rizorius, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the "autopatrolled" permission to your account, as you have created numerous, valid articles. This feature will have no effect on your editing, and is simply intended to reduce the workload on new page patrollers. For more information on the autopatrolled right, see Wikipedia:Autopatrolled. However, you should consider adding relevant wikiproject talk-page templates, stub-tags and categories to new articles that you create if you aren't already in the habit of doing so, since your articles will no longer be systematically checked by other editors (User:Evad37/rater and User:SD0001/StubSorter.js are useful scripts which can help). Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! ~Swarm~ {sting} 04:23, 9 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in the topics of Kurds and Kurdistan, broadly construed. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Copying within Wikipedia

[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Persian language into New Persian. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. DanCherek (talk) 19:39, 30 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@DanCherek: thanks, I'll keep that in mind but btw do I need to do something for that now? RIZORIUSTALK 08:23, 31 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I've fixed the attribution for you at that article in this diff but just keep it in mind for the future if you copy or move text between articles again. Also, I have not gone through your past edits (and have no intention of doing that) so if you've copied within Wikipedia in the past, please provide the retroactive attribution for those the way I did. Thanks! DanCherek (talk) 11:20, 31 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@DanCherek: All right, thanks. one more thing. Is it possible to create a History of Persian article as other languages mentioned in Template:Language histories by copying the history part of Persian language? Persian has a long history and we also have an Interwiki article. plus, History of the Persian language was an independent article until it merged into the mother article. RIZORIUSTALK 08:08, 1 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The Persian language article currently has 34 kilobytes of readable prose, which is not that long according to the guidance at WP:SPLIT, so I personally don't really see the need to break it out into its own article right now. Starting a discussion on whether to split on the article's talk page seems best to me. However, if you do decide to split it, please follow the guidance at that page to do so, specifically: (1) if someone reverts you per WP:BRD, then take it to the talk page, and (2) provide attribution in the edit summary specifying where you moved the content from; this is required by the terms of Wikipedia's license and otherwise it will look like you are the sole author of the content. DanCherek (talk) 11:56, 1 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@DanCherek: thanks for the clarification. RIZORIUSTALK 12:05, 1 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Edit warring

[edit]

Please stop edit warring and reach WP:CONSENSUS first. You added information that was not supported by sources as well copied from Kavad I without given any attribution. You have merged two figures with each other. The name of the Ispahbudhan mother of Khosrow I is unknown, and Newandukht was a fictional peasant girl from Nishapur, as mentioned in the article of Kavad I. --HistoryofIran (talk) 22:21, 6 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I hope you're doing well. I'm writing because I'm trying to trace down the source of the data behind the map at Northwest Arabian Arabic that you added in August of 2020. I know that's a while ago, but I thought it was possible that you'd remember how you found out about the map. My concern is that I think it's not quite accurate: According to de Jong's grammar of the language, NWAA is spoken in the Eastern Desert by Maʿāzah people, but not by the ʿAbābdah or groups further south. From his map, that region should only extend roughly to the end of the Gulf of Suez. The Fobos92 map at Northwest Arabian Arabic shows the dialect being spoken as far south as the northeastern Sudan! It's possible that Fobos92 was drawing from some other source, but I can't figure out what it was. Do you have any insight here? Much thanks. Pathawi (talk) 02:25, 26 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Custom signature fix needed

[edit]

Hi there! You have a custom signature set in your account preferences. Changes to Wikipedia's software have made your current custom signature invalid.

The problem: Your signature contains a syntax error or obsolete HTML tags.

The solutions: You can reset your signature to the default, you can fix your signature, or you can do nothing.

Solution 1: Reset your signature to the default:

  1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
  2. Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
  3. Remove anything in the Signature: text box.
  4. Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page. (Do not click the red "Restore all default settings" button, which will reset all of your preference settings, not just the signature.)

Solution 2: Fix your custom signature:

  1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
  2. Click the Learn more button next to the error to learn how to fix the error.
  3. Update your signature to fix the error.
  4. Click Save to update to your newly fixed signature.

Solution 3: Do nothing:

  1. In accordance with a recent request for comment, all invalid signatures will be changed to the default, which looks like "Example (talk)", one month from now.

If you have followed these instructions and still want help, please leave a message at Wikipedia talk:Signatures. Thank you! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 06:05, 2 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
