- Do a search on Google or your preferred search engine for the subject of the Wikipedia article that you want to create a citation for.
- Find a website that supports the claim you are trying to find a citation for.
- In a new tab/window, go to the citation generator, click on the 'An arbitrary website' bubble, and fill out as many fields as you can about the website you just found.
- Click the 'Get reference wiki text' button.
- Highlight, and then copy (Ctrl+C or Apple+C), the resulting text (it will be something like
<ref> {{cite web | .... }}</ref>
, copy the whole thing). - In the Wikipedia article, after the claim you found a citation for, paste (Ctrl+V or Apple+V) the text you copied.
- If the article does not have a References or Notes section (or the like), add this to the bottom of the page, but above the External Links section and the categories:
==References== {{Reflist}}
You reverted Virat Kohli’s page here https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:MobileDiff/1136898415 citing it needs a source. The change was pretty self explanatory linked to a Wiki page. “Kohli” is clan of Punjabi Khatris. Please refrain from reverting such changes — Preceding unsigned comment added by Heisenburgerr (talk • contribs) 09:50, 3 February 2023 (UTC)
Reliable sources
[edit]I've noticed that you've added information at Kylian Mbappé regarding his religion, but you did not provide a reliable source backing the information up. As self-published sources, articles hosted on Medium or Vocal are not considered reliable. Please refrain from adding that claim into the article unless you find a reliable source. Thank you. ◢ Ganbaruby! (talk) 23:49, 14 December 2022 (UTC)
- @Ganbaruby: Both of those sources contain his interview videos on a French TV channel, where he says that he's a Christian. RegardsRiopex (talk) 04:51, 15 December 2022 (UTC)
Sourcing
[edit] Thank you for contributing to the article Kylian Mbappé. However, please do not use unreliable sources such as blogs, your own website, websites and publications with a poor reputation for checking the facts or with no editorial oversight, expressing views that are widely acknowledged as extremist, that are promotional in nature, or that rely heavily on rumors and personal opinions, as one of Wikipedia's core policies is that contributions must be verifiable through reliable sources, preferably using inline citations. If you require further assistance, please look at Help:Contents/Editing Wikipedia, or ask at the Teahouse. Thank you. Sam Kuru (talk) 14:11, 18 December 2022 (UTC)

[edit]You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Jesus. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Points to note:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Jeppiz (talk) 08:54, 23 December 2022 (UTC)

[edit]Please do not add or change content, as you did at Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Please do not add unsourced content that states your own personal interpretation of the ethnicities and religions of people in a settlement without adding an independent reliable source. The encyclopedia is based on what independent, verifiable neutral WP:NPOV references say, not what any editor may think or believe. This also happened at the article Cut and Shoot, Texas. Please do not change the lead section of an article in this way unless the content is supported by the Demographics. Please become more familiar with the policies and guidelines for editing. Thank you. Netherzone (talk) 13:58, 27 December 2022 (UTC)
You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced or poorly sourced material to Wikipedia, as you did at Hasan Minhaj. This is your fourth warning about adding unreliable sourced material, not counting warnings you have received in edit summaries. Please slow down and take some time to learn about what constitutes a reliable source, as you will very surely end up blocked for disruptive editing if you continue as is. Blocked as a sockpuppet
[edit]Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should review the guide to appealing blocks, and then appeal your block by adding the following text below this notice:
{{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}}
. Note that anything you post in your unblock request will be public, so you may alternatively use the Unblock Ticket Request System to submit an appeal if it contains information that must be private.Administrators: Checkusers have access to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or by administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. You must not loosen or remove this block, or issue an IP block exemption, without consulting with a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee. Administrators who undo checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee may be summarily desysopped.
