File source and copyright licensing problem with File:C350 PONY TREKKERS AT CRAIG GOCH DAM ELAN VALLEY.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:C350 PONY TREKKERS AT CRAIG GOCH DAM ELAN VALLEY.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 19:12, 2 June 2010 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ww2censor (talk) 19:12, 2 June 2010 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for File:30770 ELAN VALLEY, PONY TREKKERS AT CRAIG GOCH DAM.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:30770 ELAN VALLEY, PONY TREKKERS AT CRAIG GOCH DAM.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 16:00, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
Help request
[edit](I copied this over from Talk:Judges Postcards, because we like to deal with help requests directly on the users own talk page, so that you will be alerted of the reply, etc. Chzz ► 11:24, 20 July 2010 (UTC))
I have added various links to this article and added more Wiki links. How do I arange for the article Judges Postcards to be upgraded from orphan status. Also I have tried to upload two images but they have been deleted as I do not now the correct copyright template to include. Which template do I need to use for a UK image where I have permission from the copyright holder, Judges Postcards Limited, to use the images to illustrate the article but the general copyright remains with the copyright holder. Reynoldsworld (talk) 11:33, 19 July 2010 (UTC)Andrew Reynolds
- I have removed the 'orphan' status as yes, it does now have incoming links.
- Re. the postcard; an image is either free for any use, or it is not. Someone saying 'you can use it on Wikipedia' does not help, because Wikipedia is free to be copied and used elsewhere.
- If the images were released under an appropriate 'free for any use, including commercial' licence by the copyright holder - Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials - but in this case, that seems unlikely.
- Therefore, it is a non-free image, and we only use those according to strict guidelines. That means, to use it, we would have to satisfy the stringent rules regarding non-free images - WP:NONFREE.
- As these rules are quite complex, and I am not, personally, sure if we could meet the conditions, please could you ask the question on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions, where hopefully you will get an answer. Best, Chzz ► 11:24, 20 July 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Template:Copyright Judges Postcards Limited
[edit]A tag has been placed on Template:Copyright Judges Postcards Limited requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.
If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).
Thanks. — This, that, and the other (talk) 01:28, 17 January 2011 (UTC)

[edit]Hi, Reynoldsworld. I've deleted the edit you made to Template:I have permission to use this image from Judges Postcards provided it is not commercially reproduced Image is copyright Judges Postcards Limited as I believe your query has already been answered above (see User talk:Reynoldsworld#Help request). Wikipedia is licensed to be used for either commercial or non-commercial purposes, so we cannot guarantee that the postcards will be used non-commercially. matt (talk) 09:51, 25 January 2011 (UTC)
MfD nomination of User:Reynoldsworld
[edit]User:Reynoldsworld, a page you substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Reynoldsworld and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of User:Reynoldsworld during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 12:26, 1 December 2014 (UTC)
- Instead of deleting your userpage, I merged it with Judges Postcards. Your userpage is deleted for now. You can see that the history there is sort of a mixed mess but it's all there I think. I believe you copied and pasted its contents a few times so I ask that next time you create a draft article (either a user subpage or a "Draft:" article) and move that if you wish but avoid copying and pasting that way. Either way, the article is quite nice. Also you may want to consider archive this page. You don't have to keep those warnings up above on your page if you don't want. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 06:14, 11 December 2014 (UTC)
