Speedy deletion nomination of Cory Morris
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Cory Morris, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
- It appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), individual animal, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. (See section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. [edit]Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Bronny James, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Specifically per MOS:NICKNAME, they are generally only presented separately if they can replace the subject's entire name. "Bronny", however, is only used in lieu of his given name, "LeBron", e.g. "Bronny James". —Bagumba (talk) 14:43, 26 October 2022 (UTC)

[edit]Your recent editing history at Kari Lake shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. – Muboshgu (talk) 16:52, 8 November 2022 (UTC)

Introduction to contentious topics
[edit]You have recently been editing post-1992 politics of the United States and closely related people which has been designated a contentious topic. This standard message is designed as an introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially-designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Deletion discussion about Controversy over Joe Biden's competence

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Controversy over Joe Biden's competence, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Controversy over Joe Biden's competence.

Speedy deletion nomination of Public image of Chris Christie
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Public image of Chris Christie requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
I noticed you said that this was published by accident, so the article can be removed while you don't want to publish this article. GoodCrossing (talk) 22:26, 12 July 2023 (UTC)

[edit]Your edit to Josh Shapiro has been removed in whole or in part, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. If you are the copyright holder, please read Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for more information on uploading your material to Wikipedia. For legal reasons, Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted material, including text or images from print publications or from other websites, without an appropriate and verifiable license. All such contributions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of content, such as sentences or images—you must write using your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously, and persistent violators of our copyright policy will be blocked from editing. BRD violation at Donald Trump
[edit]Hi Rex, please be advised that the page is under active arbitration remedies and that you "may not reinstate your edit until you post a talk page message discussing your edit and have waited 24 hours from the time of this talk page message". Speedy deletion nomination of File:Trumpmug2023.jpg
[edit]A tag has been placed on File:Trumpmug2023.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused duplicate or lower-quality copy of another file on Wikipedia having the same file format, and all inward links have been updated.
Question about photos
[edit]Hello there. I hope you're doing well and had a nice holiday season. I noticed that on the article Mel Carnahan and a few other Missouri articles, you added new photos. Firstly, thank you for doing that, it is an appreciated addition to the articles. But my question is under what license did you put it under? I tried reading the Wikipedia guide and did not understand it. I have photos I want to upload from the same source (Missouri state archives on Flickr), and figured since you did it, you might know more about this. Thank you in advance for any response, I hope you have a wonderful day, and thanks again for uploading these new photos. All the best. FountofInterestingInfo (talk) 00:12, 29 December 2023 (UTC)
- Hello there. Its easy; Since you're getting these photos from this Flickr page, which has photos under the Public Domain license, when uploading your photo put PD-author-FlickrPDM in the license category. Then, put FlickreviewR next to it so an official can review and confirm it can be used on wiki (which will be done after uploading it). Once that's done, you should be good. I hope this helped. Huntsville Unit
[edit]Hello! I saw this addition to the list of inmates. I appreciate the effort to contribute! Anyhow, I think that adding prisoners who were only incarcerated in Huntsville Unit on the days of their executions (as opposed to be on death row in Huntsville, which hasn't happened since 1965) would be redundant from a list of prisoners in Texas executed since 1928. The Huntsville prisoner list should only have people who were non-DR prisoners, or DR prisoners from 1928 to 1965.

July 2024 Edit Summaries
[edit]Hello Rexxx7777. Please provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history. Summaries help other editors by (a) providing a reason for the edit, (b) saving the time to open up the edit to find out what it's all about, and (c) providing information about the edit on diff pages and lists of changes (such as page histories and watchlists).
Edit summary content is visible in:
- User contributions
- Recent changes
- Watchlists
- Revision differences
- IRC channels
- Related changes
- New pages list
- Article editing history
Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. You can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary.
As a reminder: When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:
Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)
Many who are ignorant of edit summaries fail to add them. Some ignore this basic brief task; however, failure seems arrogant and inconsiderate specially since they are so easy to add. Also, according to Wikipedia's consensus policy, all edits should be explained —either by clear edit summaries, or by discussion on the associated talk page. Thank you Rexxx7777 for your consideration. Quaerens-veritatem (talk) 02:26, 20 July 2024 (UTC)
200px
[edit]Re: [3]
I can't revert you because I'm at my limit for the day. WP:THUMBSIZE:
Except with very good reason, do not use px
(e.g. |thumb|300px
), which forces a fixed image width measured in pixels, disregarding the user's image size preference setting. In most cases upright=scaling_factor
should be used, thereby respecting the user's base preference (which may have been selected for that user's particular devices).
And the image already included |upright=0.7
. One of the parameters is being ignored, I've forgotten which one.
I'd appreciate a fix. ―Mandruss ☎ 00:20, 9 November 2024 (UTC)
