Teahouse talkback: you've got messages!

[edit]
Hello, Responsible volunteering. Your question has been answered at the Teahouse Q&A board. Feel free to reply there!
Please note that all old questions are archived after 2-3 days of inactivity. Message added by Happy Squirrel (talk) 01:02, 5 April 2016 (UTC). (You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{teahouse talkback}} template).[reply]

I see from your recent edits that we share some of the same concerns over voluntourism. However, when trying to clean up promotion in Wikipedia articles, it is important not to go to far the other way and end up biasing the article the other way. The source you added was useful for details (although I removed some as they seemed trivial). However, the secondary sources already present are prefered, so I restored them. Feel free to discuss the issue further either here, at my talk page or at the article talk page. Happy Squirrel (talk) 01:52, 5 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

User talk pages

[edit]

Responsible_volunteering, the practice on Wikipedia for user talk pages and article talk pages is to post new messages at the bottom of the page and include a header (like == User talk pages ==). If you post a message in the middle of old messages it will most likely be overlooked because editors look for new messages at the bottom of the page, not the middle. Liz Read! A tag has been placed on User:Responsible volunteering, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy or request a change of username. It also appears that your account is intended to be used for the purpose of telling the world about an organization, person or cause that you consider worthwhile. Unfortunately, many good causes are not sufficiently notable for their own Wikipedia article, and all users are discouraged from editing in any area where they have an inherent conflict of interest. You may wish to consider one of these alternative outlets.

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text

{{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}

at the bottom of your talk page. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names.

 Thank you. The Blade of the Northern Lights (話して下さい) 16:41, 25 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
