Ackley Bridge
[edit]Hello! Thank you for your recent edits to all Ackley Bridge related articles; there are very few editors that help out with these articles, and I missed a bunch of info out which I’m glad you added with sources. One query though, do you have a source for Liz White being demoted to a guest in series three? – DarkGlow (talk) 21:17, 11 June 2019 (UTC)
- @DarkGlow: No worries, just thought I'd help out a bit. As for the source: https://theforgeentertainment.co.uk/production/ackley-bridge/ (website of the official production company). She isn't listed amongst the principal cast anymore for series 3, and the trailer revealing her character has left the school and been replaced backs it up.--Executiveop (talk) 21:20, 11 June 2019 (UTC)
- Ah yes, now that I think about it, that part of the trailer makes sense now. Thanks! – DarkGlow (talk) 21:22, 11 June 2019 (UTC)
Ackley Bridge cast order
[edit]I'm not sure if you're aware, but there is a cast list order rule, not just for us but everywhere on Wikipedia, which is:
Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Television#Cast_and_characters_information on lists states "cast listing should be ordered according to the original broadcast credits, with new cast members being added to the end of the list [...] articles should reflect the entire history of a series, and as such actors remain on the list even after their departure from the series [...] "main" cast members are determined by the series producers (not by popularity, screen time, or episode count) and generally have a set order in the credits, recurring and guest stars will not necessarily be credited in the same order in each episode in which they appear, so their place in the list should be based on the order of credits in the first episode that they appear."
A similar thing happened last year when someone decided to rank characters by their own vision of who was main by popularity. So, yeah...there is an official way on this and new characters are added in order of the credit appearance. Grangehilllover (talk) 14:29, 14 June 2019 (UTC)
- @Grangehilllover: Thanks for bringing this up. I'm aware of the rule, but I thought it'd be better to credit the core cast listed on the official production website (https://theforgeentertainment.co.uk/production/ackley-bridge/ ) first, as the main cast credit order shown at the end of each Ackley episode kept changing every episode depending on the order in which characters appear in each one - and was thus unlike the traditional broadcast credits (broadcast at the start of each episode), where the main cast members "have a set order in the credits".
- @Executiveop: You just go by the first position in the credits in which they appeared. I guess with Ackley Bridge, it's kind of like, say hospital dramas Holby and Casualty, or soaps like EastEnders...they keep changing, but go by who is listed first and whatever order newcomers are put in.Grangehilllover (talk) 15:05, 14 June 2019 (UTC)
- @Executiveop: But you're edits are helpful and it's great you contribute...but just some advice: stick to the rules. It's what I do and if an opportunity comes up to challenge anything, then use it. Grangehilllover (talk) 15:08, 14 June 2019 (UTC)
- @Grangehilllover: Ah, ok, thanks for clearing it up, and thanks for the advice - I'll be sure to keep it in mind. It's just that I don't watch soaps or long-running dramas, so I wasn't familiar with this type of broadcast credits.--Executiveop (talk) 15:18, 14 June 2019 (UTC)
- @Executiveop: It's fine and all cool. It can take a while to pick things up and you're always learning through mistakes, conversations and al that. Grangehilllover (talk) 15:24, 14 June 2019 (UTC)

[edit]Irish backstop
[edit]You wrote a good update to Irish backstop. Would you like to do something similar to Brexit and the Irish border, which needs at least a summary of it (avoiding WP:FORK). --Red King (talk) 21:57, 26 December 2019 (UTC)
- @Red King: Thanks! And yeah, sometime soon I'll update that page too. --Executiveop (talk) 19:29, 27 December 2019 (UTC)
