Adoption
[edit]Sure! I'm happy to help you. I suggest that you read WP:V and WP:N, and then let me know if you have any questions about them. These are probably the two most important content rules. Also, let me know what article(s) you would like to work on. Happy editing! -- Ssilvers (talk) 21:09, 4 December 2014 (UTC)
- I will thank-you. Please excuse me for entering this on your page. I do not know how to answer you.
- Don't worry, I am watching your page, so you can respond here. Please sign your messages by adding four tildes, which will automatically date-stamp the messages. You can indent messages with one or more colons (:) at the left margin so that it is easy to distinguish who is talking. Looking forward to talking with you more! -- Ssilvers (talk) 21:31, 4 December 2014 (UTC)
One article I am interested in editing is on Farm Cats which needs content. I also want to write an article on actress Robin Sherwood. She is already in articles on Wikipedia but does not have her own page Reelperson (talk) 22:29, 4 December 2014 (UTC)
- Good. Why don't you start with Farm cat? Note that the British call them Farm cats. The article notes that they are also called "barn cats", so that is fine. Once an article is begun in British style, we stick with British style if the subject is not primarily a UK or US subject. Similarly, if the article is begun in US style (spelling, dates, idioms, etc.), editors should continue to use US style unless it is primarily a topic that concerns another country. The most obvious problem with that article is that it lacks sources. What sources have you gathered about barn cats? See WP:V. Let me know if you have questions. -- Ssilvers (talk) 22:52, 4 December 2014 (UTC)
Adopt-a-user
[edit]Hello. This is a courtesy note to inform you that I have removed the "adopt me" template from your User page. You have not been active on Wikipedia for some time (Dec 2014). Its presence misleads others into thinking that you are still seeking to be adopted and to be guided by another editor under the Wikipedia:Adopt-a-user scheme. Obviously, you are completely free to reinsert it if you return to active editing and want to seek adoption again. (Just 'undo' my edit in the history of your user page to put it back). For simple questions about editing, just ask any of us at The Teahouse. Regards from the UK, Nick Moyes (talk) 13:21, 28 January 2018 (UTC)
