Official thanks, slightly delayed due to post-RfA crash (who knew?)
...for helping me navigate the waters of my surprisingly peaceful RFA, which closed successfully with 85 supports, 1 oppose, and 0 neutral.
I would particularly like to thank Acalamari and Alison, my nominators, and everyone who watched the page and ran the tally.
If there is anything I can do to be of service in the future, please feel free to contact me.
If you hate RfA thankspam, please forgive me. I promise I won't block you in retaliation for deleting it ;-)
And forgive me if I need a Wikibreak now and then (like now. I'm exhausted!). You wouldn’t want to see me climbing the Reichstag, now would you?
Off to flail around with my new mop! (what?!)
Kathryn NicDhàna ♫♦♫
This RfA thanks inspired by Neranei's, which was inspired by VanTucky's which was in turn inspired by LaraLove's which was inspired by The Random Editor's, which was inspired by Phaedriel's original thanks.

Copyright problem: Battle of Marion
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as Battle of Marion, but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material. This article appears to be a copy from http://www.bencaudill.com/documents_msc/battle_of_marion.html, and therefore a copyright violation. The copyrighted text has been or will soon be deleted.
If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:
- If you have permission from the author leave a message explaining the details at Talk:Battle of Marion and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
- If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:Battle of Marion with a link to where we can find that note.
- If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on Talk:Battle of Marion.
It is also important that the text be modified to have an encyclopedic tone and that it follows Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
If you would like to begin working on a new version of the article you may do so at Talk:Battle of Marion/Temp. Thank you, and please feel welcome to continue contributing to Wikipedia. Happy editing! David D. (Talk) 10:13, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
Sorry but that got deleted a lot faster than I expected. I have restored your last version without the templates (see Talk:Battle of Marion/Temp ), so you can continue working on it. When you have finished move it back to the Battle of Marion page and I will delete the temporary Talk:Battle of Marion/Temp page. Let me know if you want help or advice on cleaning it up. David D. Typo redirect Ancient Egyptian engineering
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Ancient Egyptian engineering, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Ancient Egyptian engineering is a redirect page resulting from an implausible typo (CSD R3).
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Ancient Egyptian engineering, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Duplicate images uploaded
Thanks for uploading Image:Fenis Castle1.JPG. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:Fenis Castle.JPG. The copy called Image:Fenis Castle.JPG has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.
This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot (talk) 05:29, 20 December 2007 (UTC)

Is there a possibility that Fenis Castle|300px can be made larger? If so, would you be willing to help out with it. Its a nice pic. Redmarkviolinist (talk) 05:57, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for nominating the image - it is pretty - I hoped I didn't come across to harshly in my vote. Unfortunately, generally speaking, there is no way to expand images and maintain their detail. Once an image is shrunk, that data is lost. Do you have the original image, or the raw format from the digital camera? That's the best possibility. de Bivort 06:35, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
Hiya - sorry, but you appear to have removed the "tl" from {{tl|helpme}} on the above user's page. I'm not sure why, but have reinserted it, as the enquiry (which was from a month ago) has been answered, and the reactivation is causing some confusion. If I've overstepped the mark, or there was a purpose to your removal, feel free to let me know. Thanks! Giles Bennett (Talk, Contribs) 14:31, 20 December 2007 (UTC)

League of Copyeditors roll call
Greetings from the League of Copyeditors. Your name is listed on our members page, but we are unsure how many of the people listed there are still active contributors to the League's activities. If you are still interested in participating in the work of the League, please follow the instructions at the members page to add your name to the active members list. Once you have done that, you might want to familiarise yourself with the new requests system, which has replaced the old /proofreading subpage. As the old system is now deprecated, the main efforts of the League should be to clear the substantial backlog which still exists there. The League's services are in as high demand as ever, as evinced by the increasing backlog on our requests pages, both old and new. While FA and GA reviewers regularly praise the League's contributions to reviewed articles, we remain perennially understaffed. Fulfilling requests to polish the prose of Wikipedia's highest-profile articles is a way that editors can make a very noticeable difference to the appearance of the encyclopedia. On behalf of the League, if you do consider yourself to have left, I hope you will consider rejoining; if you consider yourself inactive, I hope you will consider returning to respond to just one request per week, or as many as you can manage. Merry Christmas and happy editing, The League of Copyeditors. |

Insulted
I have to admit, I'm kinda insulted. Of all the edits logged under my IP address only one could be considered outright vandalism is the blanking of KMTDCfan89 user page (and that one wasn't me...it was my brother having a fight with the guy spilling over from some other message board).
All of my other edits are NOT vandalism, nor did any of them delete any real information! In fact the ONLY deletion is the removal of a picture of a swallowed Simba button from the Simba article.
Sidney Leslie Goodwin (4 August 2007): Removed the bolding from a phrase that shouldn't have been bolded.
Western North Carolina (3 September 2007): Actually reverted some vandalism.
North Carolina (10 September 2007): Fixed the location of the State.
Talk:United States (25 September 2007):Answered someone's question about voting in the US.
United States Declaration of Independence (26 October 2007):Fixed what I thought was a capitalizing error in the article.
Grand Theft Auto IV (2 December 2007): Fixed what I thought was a spelling error. When It was reverted back I asked in the talk page and discovered that I was wrong and didn't attempt to change it back. (aeroplanes VS airplanes)
Talk:Harry Potter (27 December 2007): The page was covered in all these big red error messages, becase I didn't know what they were I asked in the talk page. Soon after they were gone.
As you can see the ONLY vandalism under this IP was back in late October. And I'm insulted that today you posted a message in my IP talk page more or less accusing me of being a vandal with my edits and that "instead of vandalizing this information, instead think of expanding and making it better." 71.75.103.239 (talk) 17:47, 29 December 2007 (UTC)
- Please respond. I'd really like to know what recent edit I did that sparked the vandalism accusation. Because as I've stated I haven't preformed any. 71.75.103.239 (talk) 04:08, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

Yes, I am sure that I'm willing to edit. I'm very smart and creative for my age and I thing they should know that I could be teaching my teachers(once I did in a class that didn't give the right information, but I got kicked out. Apperently, they must have thought wrong was right.)

Thanks and Happy New Year
Firstly, let me wish you a very happy New Year and thank you for your help in the Milhist Tag & Assess 2007 drive.
Secondly, although the Tag & Assess 2007 drive is now officially closed, you are very welcome to continue tagging and assessing until 31 January 2008. Any articles you tag and assess during this time will be credited fully to your tagging tally for further award purposes.
Thirdly, if you can find the time, it would be great to have your feedback/comments and participation in the recently-set-up Tag & Assess workshop The idea is to see what lessons we can learn from the 2007 drive to make the 2008 one more efficient and enjoyable.

Holy Trinity Church Cuckfield , Deletion Really?
I was looking at the newpages and noticed you had marked Holy Trinity Church Cuckfield with a speedy deletion tag. I thought to remove it and note the article that it needs to be wikified instead of deleted. Your reason for the deletion was 'no context' when the article was quite lengthy, yet not encyclopedic. I've asked for it to be wikified. Perhaps you would like to add the article to your watch list and see if it's been wikified within a week. After that you can add a DELETION tag instead of a speedy deletion tag. If you would like to respond please leave a message on my talk page. Monkeytheboy (talk) 18:04, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

I've kept the title on my watchlist and will be keeping an eye out for its possible recreation. If you have any questions, or if there's some aspect of Wikipedia policy that you'd prefer I explain, please feel free to leave a message on my talk page. Userpage format
You may want to conform one style to all your user pages/subpages. In my opinion, it looks nicer that way. A tip if you're willing to follow my advice: For the talk page, one shouldn't put |} at the bottom of the table, or else all new talk entries would be underneath the table.
Also, the correct plural of userbox is userboxen.

Invitation
Hello. You may have seen that some Wikipedia articles lack sources to given dates, timelines and chronologies.
If you feel that you could like to help in making all articles more reliable and well sourced in this regard, we would like to encourage you to use, as part of your daily editing and when {{fact}} is not enough for requesting clearly and specifically a citation or source for dates, timeline or chronology, the following inline tag:
- {{Timefact}} displays {chronology source needed} for requesting timelines, dates and chronology sources. Click here for more information
At WP Timeline Tracer, we thank you for using these tools and for helping to make Wikipedia articles more accurate and reliable.

Well you shouldn't be tagging anything for speedy anyway see verification at [[AN/I discussion. We had afull converstation the other day at the admin noticeboard stating that infboxes and details will be added over the coming weeks ♦ King of Baldness ♦ $1,000,000? 16:14, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
- Look, we all make mistakes, and you simply made one here. It probably would be a good idea to not tag too many articles for speedy deletion in any event though, particularly not newer ones. This isn't saying that you couldn't {{prod}} some you have questions about, but nominating for speedy deletion is probably not the best idea if you have much any doubt whatsoever. Jeremy Flint
Google is not the judge of a bridge player. Flint's entry in the American Contract Bridge League Encyclopedia fully establishes his credibility as a top player; and his reputation as a writer was also high. If you jump on a stub the second it's put up, little would be left standing! More Flint will follow... Macdonald-ross (talk) 16:23, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
