Speedy deletion nomination of User:Rebekah Boyd
[edit]A tag has been placed on User:Rebekah Boyd, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 21:33, 30 August 2010 (UTC)
Conflict of Interest rules
[edit]Hi. Welcome to Wikipedia, again. I have declined the speedy deletion proposal on your user page, because it does not seem to me promotional, but rather a proper declaration of your interest.
You should be aware that Wikipedia is extremely sensitive to the danger of allowing itself to be used for promotion of any kind, and has strong policies which you should read carefully:
In summary, you should declare your interest, as you have done up-front; good. Unless the edits you wish to make are absolutely uncontroversial, you should normally propose them on the article talk page, declaring your interest again, and wait until there is a WP:Consensus of other editors. If you do that, you will find people very willing to help, though you may not always get exactly what you want: nobody owns a Wikipedia article, least of all anyone connected with its subject. If there is no response to your requests, you can always get help by putting {{helpme}}
(two curly brackets each side) at the bottom of your talk page, with your question below it.

- I would like add that the use of the term "solutions" in this kind of article is a very ugly clue that promotion is going on. You may sell software, or services, or hardware; but "solutions" should refer to solutes dissolved in a solvent, or to the answer to a mathematical equation. "Diebold sells solutions" is going to get text killed very quickly.
- Thanks for the feedback. As I responded to your comment on the article talk page, I am not proposing that "Diebold sells solutions" should be in the article. I am simply proposing that services be reflected in the article, as services accounts for more than 50% of Diebold's revenue-- https://materials.proxyvote.com/Approved/253651/20100301/AR_54610/HTML2/diebold-ar2009_0011.htm. Edits to Diebold entry
[edit]I removed the month "August" from the founding date in Diebold's Wikipedia entry. There is no record of an exact month that Diebold was founded-- just a year. I also removed "public libraries" from the "Area Served" section in Diebold's Wikipedia entry, as Diebold does not currently serve public libraries. Rebekah Boyd (talk) 22:14, 13 December 2011 (UTC)
