More to read
[edit]WP:Your first article is a valuable introduction; also, before entering the lists on behalf of the Kate Kennedy Club, it would be worth taking the time to read these two pages:
- Verifiability policy, which includes: "The threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth—that is, whether readers are able to check that material added to Wikipedia has already been published by a reliable source, not whether we think it is true."
- Notability guideline, a requirement to have a Wikipedia article, which is not a matter of opinion but needs to be demonstrated by showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." Significant means more than just listing-type mentions; reliable excludes Myspace, blogs, places where anyone can post anything; independent excludes the subject's own website, affiliated ones and press releases.

Thank you for this. I have read the articles and found them useful. I simply don't understand however how The Kate Kennedy Club does not fulfil the criteria of these two issues however. Indeed one only has to search 'Kate Kennedy Club' in either Google Books or simply Google to see the number of accounts of the club's purpose and aims in published books, national newspapers and online. I would be more than happy to list the names of the books/ the links to the articles in national press which reference the club, if that is necessary? Best Rdg22
- There is no point applying again and again at WP:REFUND - we have explained three times now what to do if you want the article back: apply first to user Cirt (talk · contribs), the deleting admin, and if s/he is not available or is not convinced, apply at WP:Deletion review. It would help your case to be able to point to an improved and better-sourced draft article: if you wish, I will undelete it into your user-space where you can work on it. By the way, Nationmaster is no good as a source - it is a Wikipedia "mirror" which simply copies our articles. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 18:08, 30 March 2010 (UTC)
I would appreciate you undeleting the article on my user space so that I can work on an update. Thank you. Rdg22 (talk)
- Done - apologies for delay. It is at User:Rdg22/Kate Kennedy Club. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 10:15, 8 April 2010 (UTC)
- The purpose of undeleting to userspace is so that you can work on updating it; it is not to be warehousing deleted articles indefinitely. You haven't touched the article since it was restored for you and it is liable to be redeleted if you don't do something with it. Stifle (talk) 14:51, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
