Thanks for your help. I have since cited reliable sources that point out the non-trivial mistakes on the PJD bike. On the show, Paul Jr admires the T-51's rivets and decides to put them on the bike, but the North American P-51 doesn't have rivets like that. The Titan T-51 article on Wikipedia is cited. 14) The EAA article, with a screen capture from the show, pointing out that the plane in the PJD shop is a Titan T-51 kit plane, and that the show never mentions that it is a T-51. 15) The Discovery Channel page showing the non-aerodynamic rivets on PJD's bike. 16) High-resolution photos of a North American P-51, including close-ups that can be further magnified if you use the Opera browser. You can see that they took care to make the rivets flush with the fuselage, not sticking out like carriage bolts. There are a number of actual P-51 Mustangs in existence in the United States presently. See "List of surviving North American P-51 Mustangs" on Wikipedia. So there's no reason why The Discovery Channel couldn't have arranged for the PJD crew to view a real P-51 to see how the metal was riveted. Rcmpvernon (talk) 06:01, 11 December 2011 (UTC)
